We had some suggestions to bring back the female silhouette avatar we had on the old site. Originally we did not add this for privacy reasons but we have recently implemented privacy setting options and after more suggestions came in to add this option back, we decided to do so. 

The female avatar will appear as your avatar if you set 3 options in your profile.

  1. The first setting is in the profile settings tab. You will need to set your sex to female. 
  2. Also on the profile tab you will need to have "Use gravatar" unchecked.
  3. The next setting is under the privacy tab. You will need to check Sex on the list of profile attributes and click update to make your sex public. 
After you do this, your avatar should show up as a female silhouette. If you have any issues you can use the gold feedback button to request help from the admins.

We have also looked for an androgynous silhouette to use as the default for users who do not want to denote their sex publicly. However, I have been unable to find such a silhouette.
