avatar"Red, White, and Screwed" is a great special by Lewis Black regardless. This particular bit I hold dear though, haha.

Superb!

Classic. Absolutely classic.

Lewis black is a wonderful comedian. His bits where he appears occasionally on The Daily Show are excellent.

The only thing is, I worry he's going to have a heart attack on stage at some point with his angry delivery style. I'd hate to be his cardiologist.

The bit where he talks about how Christians should ask Jews what the Old Testament means since it IS their book after all is great too.

My family watched this together the other night, and I have to say that this portion had all of us in tears.

The Cheney hunting accident bit was a close second though.

The happy kind, not the creationist kind.

I've seen this (several times) a while ago. It's a great bit. Lewis Black is a very funny guy. I really like the bits and pieces of his comedy I catch on YouTube from time to time. I think it wouldn't really be news to anybody if I mentioned how humor is an important tool in addressing these fairy worshiping clowns.

Lewis Black got confused, the fossils do not disprove that the earth was created in seven days. It disproves that the earth is 6000 years old and that man lived with dinosaurs.

avatarI love Lewis Black, I've seen him twice live in San Diego. (both on leave before supposed deployments which ended up not happening for me, as it were)

He's hilarious but as much as it is cause of his actual jokes his theater experience really seems to show and his over-the-top anger gets me too.

It's probably not news to many people, but if you like what you see here, know that he does irregular segments on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show called "Back in Black." (<< more YouTube fodder)

 avatarFrom the clip:

"I would love to have the faith that it (creation) took place in seven days but... (pause) I have thoughts. And that can really fuck up the faith thing!"

Exactly. It's the whole "get 'em while they're young" credo. I wonder how many people convert to a major religion (discounting cults like Scientology) from a state of atheism/agnostic/non-belief after attending a reputable college?

"Whenever anybody tries to tell me that they believe it took place in seven days I reach for a fossil, and go: FOSSIL"

Classic.

The irony of the creationist "museum" in Kentucky is that it's built upon fossils which it looks to deny: "Ham's "scientists" weren't the least bit curious about the very rocks upon which the "museum" was constructed. The fact is these rocks abound with marine fossils from the Ordovician period (which began approximately 510 million years ago with the end of the Cambrian and ended around 445 million years ago with the beginning of the Silurian)." www.noanswersingenesis.org.au/AiG_museum_utube2.htm

avatarI am a huge Lewis Black fan. Took my Dad to see him on his birthday when Lewis was passing through Pittsburgh. Funny as hell and all new material despite the fact that he still called it the "Red, White, and Screwed" Tour. If you have a chance to see him live, take it!

The best part was when he talked about the Jehovah's Witnesses of Gaydom. When he yells out at the end "and they just start.... fucking each other up the ass!" I fall out of my chair laughing. Lewis Black is great. Not everyone cares for his delivery style, but I love it.

Not sure if there are any YouTube clips from it, but Billy Connolly's latest,"Was It Something I Said" has him giving a lot of stick to religion in general as well as the Pope, suicide bombers, ghost hunters, tarot readers and the whole "crystal energy" type of bullshit. Highly recommended.

Just did a quick search and found one clip from it

I BELIEVED IN CREATIONISM WHEN I FIRST SAW AND I HAD TO ADMIT, IT WAS FUNNY AS HELL. ESPECIALLY THA PART ABOUT "I would love to have the faith that it (creation) took place in seven days but... (pause) I have thoughts. And that can really fuck up the faith thing!"

avatar"...evolution is a major thread in the larger tapestry that I like to call...REALITY!"

hahahaha

the only logical response to this would be "well, I reject your reality and substitute my own" (Adam Savage). Sadly, this substituted reality is constructed from threads of insanity which are part of a larger tapestry we like to call delusion.

 avatarBlack is brilliant.

If you enjoyed that video, this is worth a look as well.

Ricky Gervais clears the whole creation thing up.

If you liked this video I recommend looking up the guy that Lewis Black got it from, Bill Hicks. The act is too similar for coincidence and almost 20 years after Hicks did it. Don't get me wrong, Lewis Black can rant with the best of them but nobody can top Hicks in that department.
