Document Christian Founders 3D Adventure Computer Game

by AG Distribution

Thanks to Paul Anderson for the link.

Reposted from:
http://www.agdistribution.com/FamilyGames/ChristianFounders.htm

This incredibly patriotic, flag-waving, 3D adventure will have you saluting, waving the flag, and humming the Star-spangled Banner in no time at all!

It starts with the Pledge of Allegiance and ends with the Statue of Liberty. You will fly, slide, jump, bounce, dodge, search, and solve puzzles in 20 game levels as Uncle Sam. This game will be the hit at any patriotic meeting, rally, or convention.

The Christian Founders 3D Adventure is a great tool to show the truth about America's founding fathers! Defeat the "Deist argument" with quotes from the founders themselves.

With twenty four lessons, it's a full course in the biographies of the of the men who founded our country. It promotes understanding and retention while providing positive experiences for students.

avatarThing is, say you dug up some relics in a forgotten bank vault that could prove beyond all reasonable doubt that every single one of them was a confirmed X-tian, as well as holding an assured belief that the white man was inherently superior to all other 'races'...

what the ***k relevance to how to run your nation should that bear now?

If Charles Darwin left an early wax cylinder recording stating that he was in fact a X-tian, would that then become evidence that the X-tian God exists?

avatarOnly an IDiot would purchase this game. Anyone who knows anything about American History will laugh at this game and the people who would buy it. I just find it sad that it this day and age people are so ignorant of their country's history. And that there are people who are willing to distort that history to further their own agenda. Pathetic.

Roflmao.
What dolts. Theologically, it was impossible to justify revolt against a government imposed by God for terrestial rule accoriding to biblical accounts (specifically Paul's advice springs to mind), so the only way on religious grounds that our founding fathers could justify war was to find a way to separate God from direct intervention in human affairs. Alot easier to sell a revolution to a bunch of hicks when you tell them that King George III is there only thanks to an accident of birth and circumstance.
Deism was not the theology of choice because it sounded pretty, but so we could kill the king's men and still go on Sunday with a clean conscience.

And this is why everyone needs a good civics lesson. I'm not completely convinced this isn't a joke, but (assuming this is real) this is just another extension of the whole Pat Robertson's law school rewriting of American history - for kids!

avatarHey, no need to worry guys, kids never really go for this stuff anyway. If there is one thing pre-pubescent gamers hate, it's edu-games.

They really don't like it when a message gets in the way of good, clean, old fashioned shoot-outs, bloodlettings and gut-spillings. They take one look at this thing and their first reaction is: "M'kay... now, where's my GTA San Andreas?"

avatarI feel passionately that the people who spread around such misinformation about our country's history do not deserve their citizenship. I'm not saying it should actually be taken away, but I wish they could be forced into a time machine that takes them back to the physical and intellectual battlefields of our country's birth and makes them LEARN SOMETHING. Fuck-tards.

Few things make me as angry as the people who claim special credit for their religion in "founding this nation" while simultaneously calling the Enlightenment something for European snobs.

 avatar
what the ***k relevance to how to run your nation should that bear now?

There are two views regarding the first amendment "establishment clause":

1. The framers intended the US to be generally Christian, with no particular sect recognized as an established church.
2. The framers wanted to keep religion out of government.

Evidence of the founding fathers appealing to their Christian beliefs in the course of their government duties supports #1 over #2.

We can't ignore the intent of the authors of the Constitution unless we want to re-write the document.

21. Comment #153013 by quantum tuba on March 31, 2008 at 9:23 pm

Exactly Dr. Benway, and there is a great deal of evidence, which will be unchanged by any fundie video game, that number 2 is the correct interpretation. I could cite a variety of quotes from some Founders proclaiming their loyalty to deism while others express their Christianity as clear evidence that they wanted to erect a "wall of separation between church and state"* and foster an environment of unimpeded theological and philosophical pluralism. However, it is also obvious that there are laws higher than even the Constitution. For instance, our Constitution and Founding Fathers initially supported slavery and racism, yet instead of taking the Constitution as the sole arbiter of our law, we amended it. Even if it were shown that the Constitution and the Founders supported Christian theocracy, it would be our moral and intellectual imperative to amend it.

avatarThe revision of American history is happening everywhere we look. This video game is a way to get children to take it for granted that the United States is a Christian nation, rather than a secular nation. The producers want to form this idea(lie) in the minds of young people, knowing that few will investigate it further and will take the idea for granted. Meanwhile, we have Congressman Randy Forbes[R-VA} wasting our time with H.R. 888. The 'R' is for Revisionism.(emphasis added):

Resolved, That the United States House of Representatives----

(1) affirms the rich spiritual and diverse religious history of our Nation's founding and subsequent history, including up to the current day;

(2) recognizes that the religious foundations of faith on which America was built are critical underpinnings of our Nation's most valuable institutions and form the inseparable foundation for America's representative processes, legal systems, and societal structures;

(3) rejects, in the strongest possible terms, any effort to remove, obscure, or purposely omit such history from our Nation's public buildings and educational resources; and

(4) expresses support for designation of a `American Religious History Week' every year for the appreciation of and education on America's history of religious faith.

Read the full text here: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=hr110-888

And a fine rebuttal here: http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008/1/4/24725/53989/

I've already written my congressman, Joseph Knollenberg and received a letter in return. It acknowledged:

House Resolution 888 would support the designation of a "American Religious History Week" every year for the appreciation and education of America's history of religious faith.

Yes, Congressman, unlike some people who write to you I actually read H.R. 888 in its entirety and don't need Resolution #4 to be quoted back to me. There was nothing else in the letter that could not have been culled from the resolution itself.

He also said:

The has been referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for review. While I am not a member of this panel, please be assured I will keep your thoughts in mind should H.Res. 888 come before the full House of Representatives for a vote.

Somehow I don't think my thoughts will be kept in mind, since his letter mostly repeated the bill back to me as if I was a particularly dense child. He also says the resolution 'would recognize the diverse religious history of the United States.' I pointed out in my letter that there isn't anything in the resolution to recognize anything other than Christianity, but form letters don't acknowledge valid points.
What burns my ass about Randy Forbes and Christian Founders is that they know they are lying through their teeth. As Mark Twain said, "One of the most striking differences between a cat and a lie is that a cat has only nine lives."

 avatarBigorra,

I wrote a similar letter regarding HR 888 to my congressman, and got a similar response. Let's hope that pile of shit dies in committee.

EDIT: Come to think of it, he said nearly exactly the same thing: "While I do not sit on the Committee reviewing this current legislation, I will keep your thoughts in mind as it moves through the legislative process. "

Do they get together and copy off of each other?

26. Comment #153027 by Bigorra on March 31, 2008 at 10:31 pm

 avatarSoul_biscuit,

Half the language in the letter that he sent me was lifted out of the resolution itself, apart from a few missives about how religion "can have a positive influence", "provides our society with a foundation of values", and "encourages self-discipline and morality." They may not copy off each other, but they lift their language from the same trash can.

i didnt ask for a reply from my congressman, but i think i should have...i dont know if he got it...

"who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present, controls the past"~george orwell, 1984.
another one that fits:
"othodoxy is not thinking, not needing to think; orthodoxy is unconsciousness"
or perhaps:
"Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary."

if we say america was founded as a christian country, and history says otherwise...change history.

avatarI tried this game once, to see what it was like:
http://www.eternalforces.com/

Left Behind: Eternal Forces.

The idea is that the rapture took place and you are left to organize the Christian side in the ensuing war against the Antichrist (the Antichrist's army is called the "Global Community Peacekeepers" by the way).

Prayer keeps you faith up, giving you the right to kill people without too much trouble. You have to convert people and send them forth to build churches and recruit, etc...

Between levels, while the next one is loading, you have pro Christian and anti-evolutionist propaganda with Christian rock in the background (eek).

Needless to say it was a solid piece of crap. Even without the Christian take, it was technically and gameplay-wise a really bad game.

 avatarAs a side note:

Has anyone been watching the docudrama on John Adams on HBO? How close is the portrayal of the founding fathers' religiosity in that show to what is held to be true by non biased historians? There certainly is a lot of "god this" and "god that" and of course the terrible swearing in on the bible.

Jefferson comes across as a true visionary though and I would like to learn more about him if I ever get the time.

I concur with you strictly in your opinion of the comparative merits of atheism and demonism, and really see nothing but the latter in the being worshipped by many who think themselves Christians.

avatarThese games - including Zoo Race and Noah's Adventures - are really something remarkable. As someone involved in game development, it looks as though they were made on a budget of approximately $2000 each. I would say it appeared they simply bought premade stock objects (crates, ladders) off of websites, except I don't know where in 2008 you could find stock meshes that look this bad.

avatarThis is the new Christian Rock.
Except it's obviously not targeted at the kids, but at their parents.
I also have some experience in indie adventure game production and would say that people who actually like playing adventure games don't pay too much attention to the graphics, as long as there is a good story to the game. A game with such a lame advertising and story synopsis can be safely called a flop without even giving it a try.
Interestingly enough, Jesus has made an appearance in adventure games, even in one of the most successful series, Gabriel Knight. The third installment of that game used the same source of inspiration that made Dan Brown so infamous among the Christians.
