Richard Dawkins on Harun Yahya's Atlas of Creation

Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain's Conference on Political Islam, Sharia Law and Civil Society a resounding success October 14, 2008 The Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain's first international conference on Political Islam, Sharia Law and Civil Society held at Conway Hall on October 10 was a resounding success. Nearly 300 people came together to discuss issues ranging from apostasy, the freedom to criticise and renounce religion, Sharia law and civil society and creationism, faith schools and religious education. Held on the International Day against the Death Penalty, the conference was a stark reminder of the many killed or facing execution for apostasy in countries ruled by Islamic laws.

Guys, this isn't worth your time. These people aren't interested in learning anything. Please just ignore the trolls. You can usually tell when someone is religious but actually wants to learn about science, even if they disagree with you about various gods. This isn't one of those times.

I know what you are saying, there does come a time eventually when you do have to just ignore them, but each time one pops up they give us all the fantiastic gift of being able to explain why they're wrong for the benefit of all the people who read these articles, but might not be familiar with these creationist fallacies and the responces they get here. Most of them give up eventually, in the mean time it's a brilliant opportunity to do what most of us would never get the chance to do in public, cause everyone's always so polite and most people feel uncomfortable when someone in the room is telling someone else that their opinions are wrong.

avatarI mean where do you even begin with the following, gloriously unhinged assertion by stevenb40
NATURAL SELECTION HAS NO EVOLUTIONARY POWER

- Evolutionists claim that nature selected the advantageous, who is the decision maker? Trees, water, sun, air...

- Better running rabbits may live longer, but this does not turn them into any other species

- Faster swimming fish may not be prey to others, but they still keep on living as fish

THE CADDIS FLY IS STILL ALIVE TODAY

Note that on his web site Richard Dawkins never goes into the question of whether or not the caddis fly is still alive today, makes no comment at all about the subject, and is only interested in the nature of the picture in the Atlas of Creation. Dawkins naturally has not a word to say about the fact the creature is still living today and has never changed over the course of millions of years.

FOSSIL EVIDENCE HAS NO PLACE FOR GRADUATION

Neither does Dawkins have anything to say about the hundreds of living fossils shown on just about every page of the Atlas of Creation. As with Dawkins, a profound silence reigns among other evolutionists, too, in the face of this highly significant fossil evidence. He prefers to remain silent rather than admit that he has no explanation to give, no counter-evidence to submit in the face of this evidence that totally demolishes evolution.

ATLAS OF CREATION - THE SIGNATURE OF DARWINIST COLLAPSE

Dawkins has eventually managed to track down a picture of a model in the Atlas of Creation, whose three volumes totalling 2300 pages contain hundreds of living fossils that definitively refute evolution, and is attempting to portray this as a mistake. Evolutionists are unable to swallow the fact that there is not a single mistake in the book, which proves that organisms living millions of years ago are still living today. Dawkins' fruitless endeavour merely shows how accurate and effective the Atlas of Creation is. This goes to show that the Atlas of Creation has been instrumental in evolution's heading for a total collapse.

- Faster swimming fish may not be prey to others, but they still keep on living as fish

Adult fish gets hit by cosmic ray in reproductive cells. Cosmic ray knocks out part of a gene that is mis-repaired. Fish has 1000 babies, 500 of which have the mis-repair. However the mis-repair actually encodes a protein that makes the offspring swim 0.5% faster.
Hence slightly more offspring with the mutation survive to reproduce than those without the mutation. Hence the mutation spreads slowly in the population over the generations. There is no noticable difference between the original fish and its offspring. However, there can be change over millions of years as this kind of process repeats billions of times.

If it was all done by "God", who created "God"?

 avatarstevenb40,

Perhaps you could list some of the "thousands of evidence for creation by God" that appear on Harun Yahya's website or in his "Atlas of Creation".

- Which God?
- How did this God achieve this?
- Can you type/think for yourself or only cut 'n' paste from other creationist websites?

avatarstevenb40 - we have an award on this site, it is known as the "wooter of the week" award. You win it hands down.

Let's assume that the theory of evolution is false. How do you explain the commonalities between human and chimp DNA? How do you explain the fact that both human and chimp DNA have the same endogenous retro-virus fragments in exactly the same places in the genome? How do you explain something that looks like a cross between fish and the first four legged animals (http://tiktaalik.uchicago.edu/)?

After all, if the ToE is wrong you must have something else that explains this kind of thing, yes?

- Hundred millions of fossils in intact form and completely exact copies of modern animals give evidence that several hundred million years ago:

No not hundreds of millions, a few are SIMILAR to animals living now, which as explained is exactly what evolution would predict.

Go and learn some science.

there were no trial-error mechanisms in nature since there is no single evidence of such an organism

No that's right, there is no trial and error MECHANISM, there doesn't have to be, you obviously don't understand how it works.

Go and learn some science.

Evolutionists claim that nature selected the advantageous, who is the decision maker? Trees, water, sun, air...

Why do you think there is a decision maker at all, you have yet again demonstrated your complete misunderstanding of simple concepts, and you seem proud of it.

Go and learn some science.

Better running rabbits may live longer, but this does not turn them into any other species

No, that wouldn't turn them into different species.

- Faster swimming fish may not be prey to others, but they still keep on living as fish

Yep that's right, this isn't an argument against evolution, does the fact you think it is, and you're told it's not perhapse give you a clue you might not have been told the whole story by your magic turkish yoyo friend?

Go and learn some science.

NATURAL SELECTION DOES NOT ADD NEW GENETIC INFORMATION TO THE EXISTING DNA OF ANY SPECIES

No, natural selection doesn't add the information. Do you even understand what it is you don't believe? You should feel very embarrased that you thought you had some killer arguments against evolution but in fact they were all things that evolution allows for.

You can carry on making yourself look stupid if you like, it's very helpfull for us to have people like you coming here as mechanisms for getting rid of fallacies like your's.

GOD GIVES EVIDENCE OF HIS CREATION IN THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH

Consider the following without prejudice and ignorance:

- There are actually no transition or graduation as evolution claims. This is apparent in all the living beings over the world. We only need our eyes to see.

- Even the 3.5 billion year old bacteria is so capable with reproduction abilities, genetic code, DNA with flawless structure etc. There is no place for randomness, no place for any primitiveness, anywhere!

- Look at the earth and how it is positioned in the universe with so minute, intrinsic and delicate balances. Who could have succeeded in designing, planning this? The dust in the skies, the hydrogen bomb explosions in the stars, dark matter, what?

GOD SHOWS US HIS PRESENCE AND CREATION BY WHAT HE HAS CREATED IN THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH

BUT WE NEED EYES (CONSCIENCE) TO SEE

avatarIts the use of capital letters that makes me laugh, I am with Douglas Adams all the way on this one

Capital letters were always the best way of dealing with things you didn't have a good answer to.

You creationists don't have a good enough answer to refute evolution so you make erroneous assumptions that you refuse to back up and then call the experts who know more than you do about it idiots!

What is the point guys and girls, who are you going to convince without proper researched evidence?

Can you test your assumptions like for instance its is your god beyond all reasonable doubt rather than the multitude of other gods out there that could claim the same property rights?

No, so why bother making such idiotic assertions when you can't even produce the one important thing you are claiming is interfering in all of this?

Go and read some decent books and test stuff, its the best advice I can give you!

stevenb40,

That's not evidence. Just a jumble of words that you think make sense - they don't.

evidence
noun
1. that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground for belief; proof.
2. something that makes plain or clear; an indication or sign.
3. data presented to a court or jury in proof of the facts in issue and which may include the testimony of witnesses, records, documents, or objects.

So? Evidence for this God, and "evidence for creation by God" that you claim exists. You made the claim, back it up!
