1st Sept 2008 : Striking evidence has been found for the enigmatic "stuff" called dark matter which makes up 23% of the Universe, yet is invisible to our eyes.
The results come from astronomical observations of a titanic collision between two clusters of galaxies 5.7 billion light-years away.
Astronomers detected the dark matter because it separated from the normal matter during the cosmic smash-up.

23rd May 2007 : How old are the oldest stars" Using ESO's VLT, astronomers recently measured the age of a star located in our Galaxy. The star, a real fossil, is found to be 13.2 billion years old, not very far from the 13.7 billion years age of the Universe. The star, HE 1523-0901, was clearly born at the dawn of time.
20th May 2007 : Astronomers using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have discovered a ghostly ring of dark matter that formed long ago during a titanic collision between two massive galaxy clusters.
18th May 2007 : "In recent years, the search for the fundamental laws of nature has forced us to think about the Big Bang much more deeply."
14th May 2007 : This is taken from the book. Having him read to you is something else. Enough said. Take a listen and leave comments please. Email this video to atleast one other person, its your moral duty.

28th Mar 2007 : "Speaking to a sold out crowd at the Berkeley Physics Oppenheimer Lecture, Hawking said yesterday that he now believes the universe spontaneously popped into existence from nothing.
26th Mar 2007 : Of all the questions facing mankind, perhaps the most fascinating is concerned with life beyond the Earth.
22nd Mar 2007 : Sometime, probably several billion years ago, a rocky iceball almost as large as Pluto crashed into another almost Pluto-size iceball.
