I would like to extend an invitation to view a local Atlanta public broadcast show "In Contact", which is a half hour news and public affairs talk show that connects, impacts and empowers the African-American community in Atlanta. The show is produced by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists (AABJ), and hosted by Angela Robinson.
The episode"Faith Tested" explores the turning tide of religion in the Black community. The guests panelists include myself, Rev. Shanan Jones (associate Pastor of Ebeneezer Baptist Church), and Dr. Philip Dunston (Professor of Religious Studies at Clark Atlanta University). I think this will give some insight into how the subject of atheism is treated in the Black community, as well as a sense of a "good ol' network" that lies within Black leadership and their sense of religious privilege - although overall, the dialogue was amicable.
The first airing of this episode is Sunday, February 10th at 9:00 am on local Public Broadcasting Channel 30 in Atlanta. More info about the show (and hopefully, a live stream) can be found at:
Please share this with anyone who may be interested. The 2nd airing is February 24th at 9:00 am. Thanks!
