Rebecca Newberger Goldstein is a philosopher and novelist. Her tenth book, Plato at the Googleplex: Why Philosophy Won’t Go Away, will be published this spring. Her most recent novel was 36 Arguments for the Existence of God: A Work of Fiction. The recipient of numerous awards for both her fiction and scholarship, in 1995 she received a MacArthur grant, popularly known as the “genius” award. In 2010 she was named Humanist of the Year.
