I remember thinking during the dirge of school assembly back in the late 60s and early 70s that the religious awe as in D Adams words was frankly silly. But I had nothing to help me understand the alternative. my parents both atheists never forced atheism on me. But when I started asking questions I was given the selfish gene. Since then I have devoured all Richard Dawkins books one of my favorite explanations is how a spider spins and makes its web from (climbing mount improbable I think). I will certainly read this passage to my grandchild due soon. Mindful that I do not indoctrinate. But just pass on the beauty to be found in nature.
