Religious tenets are a source of inequity and suffering across all species.
As an advocate of non human animal rights, I am perplexed as to why those who acknowledge the animal status of humans do not naturally champion non- human animal rights.
When considering the overwhelming suffering emanating from the exploitation of other animals for food, clothing, research etc, there is little evidence to support the assertion made by Richard Dawkins " ..that does seem to be something in humanity, to feel empathy for suffering".
A cruelty free lifestyle would be a logical consequence to those who have emancipated themselves from the shackles of religious indoctrination. What a wonderful opportunity to evidence the positive effects of rational analysis and critical thinking.
I am extremely grateful for the work of Richard Dawkins which has helped me to overcome the effects of a strict religious upbringing.
