I am an 18 year old student, of Trinidad and Tobago, WI, that will be graduating this year, and to university in September. I have just finished reading The God Delusion, and although I've never quite been religious, I am still not quite a staunch athiest, though I think I'm getting there; I suppose I like to think of it as keeping my mind open, but I do believe that someone (or something, if you prefer) had to start the universe (or universes), and for now I'll call that something god.
My girlfriend, in September, joined St. Annes College at Oxford, and what I really wanted to say is that, now, I am ridiculously proud, impressed and quite jealous of the fact that she now goes to a university alongside you.
The book was brilliant, and in most ways I wished it wouldn't end, but at the same time, you just want to know how you're going to state the conclusion. I hope I haven't sounded very pretentious, here, and especially when I say that I believe it'll make a number of religious officials extremely angry, not necessarily because of what you've said, but because you've left them with nothing to say.
Again, thank you.
