I've been a huge Dawkins fan ever since I first read The Selfish Gene, an event that was for me nothing short of a five-alarm teenage awakening. Creating richarddawkins.net has been a dream-come-true experience. More than just a book plug and some articles, this web-topia was designed to be a powerful interactive resource for freethinkers, students, professors and inquiring minds alike. I hope it will be a favorite midnight destination for those living in difficult family circumstances, perhaps seeking material on Evolution, Atheism, or other rationalistic topics from which they have otherwise been sadly restricted. These questioning minds might be taking their first steps out of religious indoctrination, and for many the web is the first and possibly only way of receiving this valuable information.

Books as wonderful and life-changing as Dawkins' deserve a comparable web presence, and I hope you find richarddawkins.net to be of such high caliber. As we launch this fall of 2006, in tandem with the release of Richard Dawkins' latest book The God Delusion, I look forward to developing the website with The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science (RDF) and its persuit of an exciting and ambitious agenda.
