1. Daniel Dennett Debates Dinesh D'Souza

Comment #92826 by mrnorman on December 1, 2007 at 2:27 pm

I'm not sure about the DSouza comment about religion actually growing. My question is, is he counting in the conversion from tribal religion to mainstream religion? If so then there is no change in belief. I want to know a few things:

1) How many people who had no religious preference/belief are actually getting converted?

2) How many people who had non-mainstream religious belief are being converted into a mainstream religion?

3) How many people who have belief in religion are leaving and becoming non-believers?

So the big question is, is religion/belief actually converting more non-believers than it is losing or just plain changing for one belief to another? So, is belief really growing?

I have a question for all. Is it time that Dawkins comes out to play with D'souza?

I did listen to part of the radio interview. I found it rather amusing. The host and Wilson seem to think that atheists are scared of the religious intellectual movement, especially IDiocy. Do any of you seem really threatened by ID?

Is this guy being serious or really satirical? I'm not sure anyone in their right mind would take this guy remotely seriously. I guess we will see though.

"Such a wild caricature will be unrecognizable to any believer (like me) in the God of Israel."

Has this guy read his bible? Are we now just ignoring the old testament?
