1. Hitchens and Boteach Debate on God

Is Richard really "dear friends" with this fool? Say it isn't so.

2. Hitchens and Prager Debate

The fact that someone so knowledgeable about this situation supports military action there makes me regularly question my own views about this.

Fair enough. Hitchens' view is by far one of the most sophisticated and interesting of any. Still wrong in my view, but interesting nonetheless.

3. Hitchens and Prager Debate

Who knew Hitchens was so spot on? My opinion of him has significantly changed. If only he'd smarten up about Iraq I'd be with him 100%, but nobody's perfect.

Richard: you, Hitchens, Harris, and Dennett should consider starting the "posse of reason." You could all tour the cable news channels. It would be great cross-promotion!

4. Does God Exist? The Nightline Face-Off

Perhaps I'm being superficial, but Kelly's voice does not lend itself to debate. That said, I think the OBVIOUS winners were Brian and Kelly. It's not true often, but here it was truly straightforward.

There were many points which completely silenced Ray and Kirk, especially concerning God being the "first cause" and micro/macro evolution. Absolutely terrific. If only Ray were to have summoned the atheist's nightmare, that would have been icing on the cake.

And HOW many times are we to endure the question "If there is no god/higher power, what basis do you have for morality?" It's completely analogous to saying "Christmas just won't be the same if Santa Claus doesn't exist. Therefore, we should believe in Santa Claus." Even if the first premise is true, how does deluding yourself help?

Brilliant debate.

5. We'd be better off without Religion

Brilliant debate from Hitchens and Dawkins.

Ruth Glendhill's review is an exercise in logical futility: no matter how clear or convincing Dawkins et al. were, and despite the fact that she voted for the motion, she still believes that "God is trying to tell" her something.

I say, it's not God. It's life. LIFE is trying to tell you something. Life and logic. For goodness sake LISTEN.

6. Then Call it God

No no no, the Bible doesn't advocate bigamy or incest! JESUS wiped all that crap out! Praise God.

It's unfortunate that this sort of thinking is impenetrable. A cartoon like this simply reminds me of it. It's great though.
