This sounds like a description of some demented boot-camp. I especially like how they apply prayer to those that are "unsaved"...as if they're doing us some kind of favor.
Well, if Jesus was everyone's personal savior and so many bad things still happen to people in the world...Jesus is kind of an underachiever.
I'm glad I was never raised to believe in this nonsense. Truly glad...

A portion of this message board being dedicated to designating a "trinity" for atheism is embarrassing. Who cares who are considered the preeminent atheists throughout history. In regards to the people mentioned, there are so many different reasons for their denial of mysticism that comparison between them is moot. Might we concentrate, rather, on their unique contributions to the advancement of reason and not some arbitrary award assigned to them by their internet fans. Really, you guys. Next, we'll be arguing who the "archbishop" of the Church of the FSM is...quite ridiculous. If that's your attempt at wittiness...try again, please.

Prof. Dawkins will have no trouble with that mental midget. Hopefully, the mental midgets watching Fox Noise can appreciate Prof. Dawkins and his views.

These attempts at spoofing worthwhile texts are laughable. It makes sense that the pious and their similarly deluded authors feel compelled to mimic actual good literature. They are very accustomed to it...its more than likely how the Bible was crafted to seem the word of god. Well, that and a lot of embellishment (this is, of course, giving religion a huge benefit of the doubt regarding whether or not any of religious history actually happened). They've spent their lives reading and studying the one of the most disjointed texts in human history the authors of which cannot be verified.
We should all see this as proof that the message is finally being heard. We all need to keep applying the intellectual pressure. However, we do NOT need to answer these spoofs with similar tactics. Let them react to our efforts...not the other way around.
Let's keep on the offense.

I would like to think the creator of the universe would know what my lifelong intentions are. I think the pious sell their beliefs short when they imply a sort of "hedging of bets" regarding one's eternal outcome. Simply picking the "safest" option is by no means honorable. This seems a very weak argument for something supposedly so important.
I find it quite difficult to believe that if I'm a genuinely "good" person, this supposed supreme being will be blinded by the fact that I was driven by proof and logic. Come on...if you were omniscient and omnipresent, would it be hard for you to figure out if someone believes in you? You wouldn't exactly have to go around counting the Jesus fish on cars.
This argument seems as a last grasp at viability.
