And on top of it, some really rubbish on-screen graphics.

This is despicable, biased news reporting. Imagine presenters like this on the BBC or even on Sky News? I find it incredible how mainstream American news channels are never impartial and editorialise everything they cover.
It's real pat-on-the-back stuff between the reporters and the priest. Total and utter rubbish. Not news, not debate, not even intelligent TV. This is News For Morons.

What an ignorant, arrogant, nasty, homophobic, paranoid, judgemental and just plain stupid thing to say. I just don't understand how people can take idiots like Rev Graham Dow seriously. What a wanker.

I don't really think it's intended to be mystical. It's trickery and hypnosis, that's all. What's fascinating is his ability to misdirect the viewer into thinking the trick is done one way (psychologically or whatever), when in fact it's 'just a trick'. This doesn't make it any less of a trick, though.
There have been times when he's been found out, like the Russian roulette stunt, (Wikipedia) and he's always encouraged it- ie encouraged people to think critically.

I completely disagree. He's done dozens of these programs, and far too many people are involved for it to be fake. Plus, I thought the converted man came across totally naturally in his speech.
It's just magic, trickery etc, but what these skills can be used to do is scary. Psychic mediums and their ilk are nothing but dubious dangerous con artists.

This is the best interview from the other side of the pond so far. Good value for money, it could be said.

This video is hilarious. Firstly, the guy is actually funny. Secondly, his expression of total suprise when they walk out is priceless. Good to see that most of the audience stayed. The protestors come accross as rather ridiculous.

The first video is hilarious. It would easily fit into South Park or Family Guy. I find it hard to believe that anybody would be gullible enough to take it serioutly. It's ridiculous!

What's the most arrogant way to respond to somebody's point whthout actually having a real argument? Laugh at them. The guy can't stop doing it.

The Daily Mail has just published an article lambasting Dawkins over this interview. There's a thread in the forums under Richard Dawkins about it. I've scanned it here:

>By the way, why are the Irish people in this forum so self-loathing that they keep apologising for the freedom of speech that people enjoy in their country?
Couldn't agree more. We ARE a catholic country, and while I can think of very few friends from my generation that go to church, I can think of many from my parent's generation that do. It takes time for a country to change, and Ireland has been strongly catholic for a very long time. This Catholicism was made seem more important because of the troubles in the north. But now things are starting to change, and it works from the younger generations up. But it's slow. Remember, the Late Late doesn't have a young audience.

>It escapes me completely how somebody who utterly misunderstood TGD was paired with professor Dawkins as an "expert".
I don't think they did say he was an expert, just that he was an "ex-athiest", and they obviously picked him because he seems to have, on the surface, good debating skills.
>And I wonder if the audience was random choosen.
They are. I must say that the interview seemed as balanced as it could be- Pat Kenny certainly was balanced and, though he may be stiff, he's good at mediating serious debates. They need to have someone representing both sides for it to be a debate, the texts coming up on screen were fairly mixed, but the producers can't be responsible if the majority of the audience disagree.
Tonight on The Panel should be good though...
