1. 3QD interviews Richard Dawkins
Comment #179183 by MikeV on May 12, 2008 at 8:44 pm
I'd have to concur with the previous commenters, this really was a very interesting interview with lots of fresh new questions.
The interviewer was brilliant too.
Thanks!
2. Richard Dawkins interviewed by John Humphrys on Cardinal Murphy O'Connor
Comment #177597 by MikeV on May 9, 2008 at 10:42 am
Richard totally mopped the floor with this John Humphrys guy. Hymphrys was at a loss when he tried to explain why you don't need to demand evidence when talking to religious people. He was lucky that the "interview" was so short.

Happy Brithday Prof. Dawkins, I'm going to drink to you tonight :)
5. Bart Ehrman, Questioning Religion on Why We Suffer
Comment #130011 by MikeV on February 19, 2008 at 10:33 pm
Good interview.
Bart said that it took him around 8 years to become agnostic... let's hope that it takes alot less than that for him to become an atheist :)
6. Debate between Richard Dawkins and Madeline Bunting
Comment #128049 by MikeV on February 15, 2008 at 11:40 pm
How does Richard do it? How can he face such stupidity and evasiveness with such calmness?
Now I remember why I've stopped reading articles by the religious, they're totally obfuscated and vague.
7. Hitchens and Boteach Debate on God
Comment #125070 by MikeV on February 10, 2008 at 9:50 pm
WOW!
I was so pissed off while watching this debate.
It was like watching a screeching monkey shouting out creationist propaganda.
He's made so many errors when talking about evolution that it's obvious that he has NOT studied it.
Monkeys randomly typing on a typewriter?
Where are all the transitional fossils?
Misquoting Darwin about the eye?
Saying that Stephen Jay Gould doesn't believe in evolution?
etc...
Is this guy an idiot? YES HE IS.

This is the best case I've read against a historical Christ of any kind.

Amazing piece of work, it was a complete surprise and an utter delight!
Too bad there was no Hour 3 :)
12. This Friday: Debate between Dan Dennett and Dinesh D'Souza
Comment #91663 by MikeV on November 28, 2007 at 11:22 pm
I'm afraid that these debates with D'Souza are made for very militant atheists. Those that are not afraid of embarassing D'Souza. Sometimes ad-hominems are inevitable, and D'Souza likes to use these arguments in every debate he's been to.
D'Souza also likes to make so many strawman arguments that it makes very hard for the other debater to keep count and to strike each one down (because of the limited time).
Let's hope that Mr. Dennett will not disappoint as Shermer and Hitchens have :/
13. Hello Again, Michael Behe!
Comment #86458 by MikeV on November 9, 2007 at 9:36 am
"I'm still sightly mystified about the Lindsay Lohan pics"
Maybe if enough of us do it, Google will end up showing pictures of Lindsay Lohan when you look up "Michael Behe".
Actually, maybe we should just link him to weasels.
14. Debate between Richard Dawkins and John Lennox
Comment #76064 by MikeV on October 4, 2007 at 3:08 pm
What a shameful "debate". No wonder, it was organized by a Christian group after all.
I was so pissed off by the fact that Lennox always had the last word in. All Richard could do was simply explain some statement in his book and then Lennox would attack it, without letting Richard rebut his silly arguments.
It's like they were two against one.
15. Can we really learn to love people who aren't like us?
Comment #48751 by MikeV on June 9, 2007 at 1:29 am
Richard Dawkins wrote: Rabbi Sacks is a good, humane man. If he applied to science the same critical intelligence as he displays in his ethical writings, perhaps he would become an atheist too.
I think that it is as plausible as you applying Theology in your study of Evolutionary Biology.
I think that no matter how many facts you throw at a believer, he will automatically lock up with "this is my faith".
16. World's most prominent atheist takes on the Biblical God (and other topics)
Comment #39320 by MikeV on May 10, 2007 at 10:10 am
I have looked and looked, but I can't find any support for the claim that those were the actual last words of Voltaire. The quotes they used do appear on some apologetic websites though (D'oh!).
And the Thomas Paine quote was nowhere to be found!
I hate when people make things up.
