at the begining of his book Davies says
"In contrast to Darwin the young butterfly collector was not intellectually constrained by the idea of a world designed by god.......nor did he feel that he had to make room for god in his theory"
how can he possibly jutify that comment?

unfortunately TELA have rejected all 2000 complaints and wont send the bible for classification-
"The city's media watchdog yesterday rejected more than 2,000 complaints against the Bible, saying it was part of human civilisation and its contents were not offensive to reasonable members of the community"
apparently because its passed from generation to generation its ok.

"Being a Christian for me is much more like being a character in The Complete Works of Shakespeare than a scientist in a laboratory. The reason Shakespeare is so popular is that he knows so much about the human condition"
This analogy is quite apt-- Shakespeare borrowed his plots from all over and didn't pretend to historical accuracy. Its the beauty of the language that endures. Maybe we should have English Lit Professors in the Lords instead of the Bishops.
