Happy Birthday. Apparently you've used your knowledge of Genes to keep yourself looking young. Let your fans know your secret. Good scotch right? Enjoy the day. Dinner on me next time you are in NYC.

I can only imagine the cold water shock Mathis felt when seeing world reknown Richard Dawkins, the lead devil's advocate stand up to ask a question in the Q A session. Could anyone actually hear the sweat beads form from his pores? Did he stammer? How I wish there WAS video of that.
4. A new website addition: Debate Points
Comment #87060 by MIDVALCRE on November 11, 2007 at 5:57 am
Here is a question more than a debate point, but being that it came up while debating with my (somewhat) theist wife, I will ask it here, with hopes that someone smarter than I can answer it. When I told her that much religous dogma and stories are not true, she responded "They are true to me". This is an area that I found compelling to think about, only because it made me wonder if, as ardent or "militant" atheists, are we going to far and are basically telling the patients that the placebo they are taking is only a sugar pill. How do we debate the idea of attempting to cut away religions need to push their "placebos" onto others, while still respecting their individual rights to enjoy the effect of their own little sugar pill?
Again, not a debate point per se, but an interesting take I would like to see answered, if only because I am having a hard time trying to figure it out.
Thanks.

Twilight also occurs in the morning. Let us hope this is indeed the morning twilight of reason and the begining of a bright sunlight enlightening day!

What a nice tribute. Still have yet to read Breaking the Spell, and can't wait. Yes thank goodness indeed for people who can put into words my exact thoughts. If only I could explain these ideas as clearly.

Another great job. His razor edged wit is really uncomparable. At first I disagreed with his unapologetic in your face and unpolitical stance, but am coming around. I was trying to save the feelings of friends and family from being hurt by trying a less agressive attack, but perhaps it is they who need to thicken their skins a bit and realize reality and reason. Though I dont recomend him for anyone reading their first atheism book, for he might be to much a shock to their systems. Reality and reason might need to be eased into for people who have been delusional for long periods of time.

Respondeat Superior. - "let the master respond" (although technically a misuse as I am familiar with it in Admiralty Law meaning "The Captain is gonna be the fall guy for this one".

Whats also needed to "help our cause" is to remind those who are faithful that Religion has its merits, its beauty, and its importance in the same ways art and literature do, and that we do not intend on abolishing it completely, only putting it where it belongs, like in the area of the humanities department. Many people might be willing to temper their faith if they knew they could still practice their religions. It may very well be these baby steps that are needed for humans to walk into the adulthood of their existance.

Hedges is pulling the old "God is Love", or "God is Nature" routine. Sure, if only that were true.

I work in the oil industry and I would gladly welcome the Tesla. And finally we in the US get something first. I always hear about all these great inventions being marketed around the world except here.

I heard God hates gay pink flamingos! hehe. Seriously tho, it does kinda bring up a whole new slant when you say you have to give the talk about "The Birds and the Bees". First, the bees have all disapeared and now the Birds might not exactly be the greatest examples any more.

I like this. I knew I needed to bond more with my female coworkers and now I have a good way to give them. This should work out great! I'll be back in a minute to tell you what they thought...
