The best kind of satire is satire so good that it makes you start to wonder if its serious.

;) nice article.

2. The Dawkins delusion

Its a fair criticism. But its too generalized. Its very true that some people no matter how blunt you show them the facts will always revert to their own beliefs. But I actually am A fan of it.

Too long have people been wishy-washy and worried about offending people and their beliefs. Sometimes you just need to grab a drunkard by the scruff of their neck and dunk their heads into a water filled horse troff of soberness to snap them out of it.

I speak from firsthand experience. Because it took the book to do that to me. And I'm sure its done the same for others.

I think my point is if The God Delusion was romantic and unoffensive. It would have not made such an impact on me.

3. Sam Harris Strikes Back

On the surface what Hedges seems to be saying is essentially non-nonsensical. The word God to a large percentage of the population brings with it religious dogma. On one hand he is stating he doesn't believe in that yet he is on the attack against people who also don't?

He's stated he's not a believer in an anthropomorphic deity. So what "god" is left? The Einsteinian definition? or the "god in the gaps" definition? If not either then he really should assert he's an optimistic agnostic.

Seems like a strange semantic stance. I'd love to see the debate in full so I can comment further. Looks to be some cherry-picking going on though!

4. Debate between Richard Dawkins and Robert Winston

Interesting that Winston essentially dodged the question "Do you actually believe in God?" He ran to the definition argument but I think he knew that Richard was referring to the traditional personal intervening god. He dodged the question.
