My friend takes a huge dose of an anti-depression medication for OCD, and he has never told me about suicidal thoughts. He does sharpen his pocket knife for fun, but he doesnt seem depressed or suicidal at all. and he takes a HUGE dose of medication. I think it was a weeks worth of medication a day.

I think that The God Delusion has some particulary hilarious paragraphs. Probably isnt the funniest book of the year though. amazing book all the same, glad to see its getting positive reviews.

count me in! I live in deep south georgia so it will be interesting to see what reactions i get. probably not that many good ones, but if i wanted to be popular id go to church like 99% of the other people in my town.

yeah. I bet you if all religion was done away with we would have 90% less wars. I never believed the idea that religion is just an outlet for humanitys violence tendencies. Sure humanitys a bit trigger happy, but that can not possibly account for any large amount of the violence of the world.

if religion would drop indivisual beliefs, like noahs arc and social things like no gay marriages, alltogether, then yeah they might be able to coexist with evolution. but i doubt it will happen, and if and when we pick sides im taking the more rational one.

bieng perfect is next to impossible for humans. that doesnt mean we shouldnt try, but that we shouldnt beat ourselves up for failing. trying to make the world better is always a worthwhile cause.

when it comes to E.T. life i think we are going to end up very suprised. it may be carbon, but if the planet it started on had oh say collided with a comet made almost completley of silicon and silicon was spread over the planet, creating a disporpotion of it to other elements, wouldnt it be more likely for any life that developed there to be silicon based? i think life is going to use whatever will be most useful.

i dont know whether to laugh or cry. its horrifing, what it does to people. im speechless. how can anyone sing those lyrics and not be shamed forever? and how do they suppose to preach from a book thats complete fiction and that supports genicide? its horrible.
