1. Ancient boy's skeleton sparks evolution debate

"Actually religion played a small part in the 'rape of Africa'"

Actually the rape continues.
Uganda is awash with 'End Time' evangelists. The country is stuggling to move forward because the zealot theists (usually American) are telling the common uneducated folk that the world is about to end.

Religion has been, is, and always will be, the biggest ever threat to the proper scientific education of the masses.

As for the Scots and the Welsh and the sheep.

It took the Yorkies to work out that wellies were an actual aid (back leg of the sheep down each wellie, stops the buggers running away).

I deny Yaweh, Jehova, Allah, Zeus, Mithra, Uncle Tom Cobbly, etc. etc.
I deny the Flying Spaghetti Monster.... er... I think.

I also deny eating the last chocolate digestive.

Actually, I have difficulty with all this denying.
Can I instead CONFIRM my non-belief in supernatural faeries and religion of any form.
Can I CONFIRM that I truly believe the books relating to the Hebrews, Christ, Mohammed, and many others are just collections of exagerated local legends and Pious Frauds.
Can I CONFIRM that history records, and can prove, that Christianity is responsible for the torture, death and suffering of countless millions of humans over the last 1800 years.

Apart from that, I support what the RRS website is doing. Keep up the good work chaps. Seeing a Christian with his knickers in a twist is so entertaining.

QI is a very entertaining program, one of my favourites. I have yet to watch this edition.
Stephen Fry is profoundly non-religious, possibly anti-religious, and has been known to make derogatory remarks about religion on previous TV programs including QI.
I hold the theory that Atheists have a far superior sense of humour.
I don't know about Jo Brand but she used to be a psychiatric nurse. I work in the NHS and that has only served to reinforce my non-belief.

As for the astrotheology theory mentioned by paradigm667, I can recommend The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold, by Acharya S, available from Amazon. An excellent book in many ways.

5. Richard Dawkins on The Sunday Edition

Sorry Kevin I didn't mean to cast aspersions on your character or intelligence. :-))

I watched the program because it was mentioned on this website. I'm sure most of us here did.

By the way I'm a he (last time I looked).

This was typical of the nursery school grade patronising that ITV specialise in.
Anyone with a modicum of intelligence will tell you that anything to do with UK ITV 'current affairs' is cheap sensationalist tat. A visual version of the gutter press. Dumbed down for the dumbest of the dumb.
I did not hold out much hope for a sensible discussion and I wasn't disappointed.

I have been a long time admirer of Tony Benn. I have been to his political rallies in the past. I have read his books. He was an icon of British politics and at one time, my hero. But what I saw on Sunday morning was sickeningly disappointing.
There again, this is what happens when you become involved with the nobrained tabloid TV trash that ITV have become.

People who regularly watch ITV news and current affairs (or any other ITV programmes) are usually somewhat cerebrally challenged.

RD has to get his message out and unfortunately that includes using this type of media. However, I have the feeling that the majority of the audience for this program would have forgotten what they has seen five minutes after the interview ended.

7. The God of the Bible is No Delusion!

Hear, hear! Well said.

To those that question, I can give answers.
To those that puzzle, I can give solutions.
To those that blindly believe, I can give only pity.

There is no value in debating the deluded and the ignorant.

My stock answer when I am asked if I believe in god is - Which god? There are so many different variations of such a theme.

Re: Jesus and Mo

Support this author, a true genius. Buy the books.

How come atheists have the best sense of humour?.
