1. It's no wonder evangelical atheists need to shout so loud

Comment #237966 by Am I Evil? on August 27, 2008 at 1:16 pm

How many more 'articles' like these are we going to get?! Change the bloody record! Same old same old...

What caused the Big Bang? Don't know. Yet. We're working on it.

What caused God? Don't ask that, it offends...

Ugh!

Nice review, looking forward to the programme.

PS - is there an unclosed bold tag out there somewhere?

3. Calling World Conference on Dialogue a Symbol of Unity Among Different Traditions

Comment #213443 by Am I Evil? on July 18, 2008 at 1:06 pm

"Let our dialogue be a triumph of belief over disbelief..."

Why make a big deal out of that? Just say goddidit... sorted.

4. Periodic Table of Videos

Required viewing for any self-respecting science class I reckon!

Believe it or not, I had this idea once but didn't get round to doing it. I had access to about 58 elements which would have gone a long way into simplifying an explanation on the Periodic Table. As it was, other things began to take over and then it all got forgotten about. Ah well...

5. MnIndy interview: Unrepentant science-heathen PZ Myers still intends to prove 'this cracker is nothing'

Comment #211058 by Am I Evil? on July 15, 2008 at 1:21 pm

I just think that some people out there feel the need to be outraged about something... doesn't matter about facts or contexts, they simply have to have their fury fix.

Steve, I look upon this as an experiment. Sure, PZ could leave it all alone and let it all blow over and I'm sure the world will keep on turning. But there's a side of me that's rather intrigued to see what happens next...

Call me selfish but there you are! :)

6. VOICES OF SCIENCE - Available Now on DVD

Great stuff! It's things like this that make me happy! :D

Thanks to all involved, keep up the good work.

7. PLEASE WRITE IN SUPPORT OF PZ MYERS

Comment #208099 by Am I Evil? on July 10, 2008 at 3:19 pm

@18 - Righton

Perhaps not, but I think PZ still deserves our support for giving an opposing voice to the mindless treadmill of religion. If they want to conduct a witch-hunt (so very them), then the least we can do is express our support.

At least, so say I.

ps - would love to see that inbox right now!

8. PLEASE WRITE IN SUPPORT OF PZ MYERS

Just reading some of the comments on the Pharyngula blog, the nice 'wouldn't hut a fly' catholics are coming out with the death threats already.

Just as bad as the Islam Cartoons to be honest.

9. Religious bigotry upheld in court

Comment #208086 by Am I Evil? on July 10, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Once again, belief in an invisible sky-daddy trumps all.

And they are the ones that feel persecuted all the time...

Email sent, with pleasure. And I'm in the UK - I think worldwide emails would only add to the support. Go for it Steve!

13. Creationist critics get their comeuppance

I read that reply last night, grinned a lot so I did!

Wonder if Schlafly will shut it now?

14. The Latest Wedge Document

Comment #199843 by Am I Evil? on June 26, 2008 at 12:13 pm

And then you get Xtians who say that they're nothing like this, that they never would hound people about their religion.

But then you never hear them criticising those who do.

15. Stop distorting young minds!

Good old Grayling! :)

All education should be secular.... amen!

16. Should We Rid The Mind of God? A Debate

A fly on the wall in the McGrath household:

MRS McGRATH: What would you like for dinner, dear?

MR McGRATH: Well, if I can just come back on that actually, I think you've raised a very interesting point, pivotal to the way this discussion should continue. This is certainly something that needs to be engaged with and explored further. It seems to me that there are areas we can push into here that can challenge us and I welcome that. When I was an atheist, these on-gonig philosophical subjects were subject to different interpretations and perspectives so, suffice to say, the Christian faith has fortified me and others to take all of these very very very interesting points into account and offer an explanation such as this: Egg and chips will be fine, love.

MRS McGRATH: I'm leaving you.

17. Award-winning comedian George Carlin dies

Comment #198044 by Am I Evil? on June 23, 2008 at 5:23 am

Oh no! This is really sad news. I loved his 'Religion is Bullshit' vid so much, I spent a while transcribing it so I could read it again wherever!

RIP George, you were fantastic.

18. Museums teach society lacking in science literacy

Comment #173071 by Am I Evil? on April 30, 2008 at 9:55 am

I co-manage a team of Explainers at the Science Museum in London - our whole purpose is to bring science alive to whoever walks in our doors (half a million in Launchpad since November last year and counting) and to encourage questioning and a hands-on approach. It's a proper job with all the perks and supports, and looks rather cool on a CV!

Just saying this, as most people regard the majority of these positions as voluntary.

I believe... well actually I know... that my gallery and others like it help promote the public understanding of science and are especially useful for igniting that spark in children that can often get doused in schools.
