1. Atheist soldier sues Army for 'unconstitutional' discrimination

Possibly the reason that complaints of evangelizing are "relatively rare" has more to do with military personnel being afraid to complain more than it has to do with how much evangelizing happens in military circles - which is alot. Once word gets out that one has complained, retaliation of some sort is in short order.
As a former member of the military, I can totally vouch for what the soldier's complaint. In the military, if you are an atheist you are held in contempt. Moreover, senior personnel take no steps to discourage intimidation of atheist military personnel.
2. Award-winning comedian George Carlin dies

I am pretty depressed about this one. To state that George Carlin had a tremendous amount of influence in the comedic world be a drastic understatement. I may need some 'uppers' to get through this one. He will be sorely missed.
By the way, his routine on the Ten Commandents still makes me chuckle to this very day and I find myself borrowing from his statements made during that routine quite often. Maybe memories like that will help me feel better. R.I.P. George. :(
3. Archbishop's 8 March centennial message: Let Sharia Law govern women's lives, Amen!

The most important point made in the article by Ms. Majedi is that the post-modern concepts of multiculturalism and cultural relativism do not lead to greater equality before the law in terms of gender or race. Unfortunately, as Ms. Majedi notes, such concepts have quite a stronghold on current trends in political thought. In all the hoopla in regard to the remarks by Rowan Williams pertaining to Sharia Law, this point is sometimes lost. Cheers to Ms. Majedi for bringing the issue to light.
4. US military accused of harboring fundamentalism

As a former member of the military (Air Force) I can vouch for the soldiers whom accuse the military of fostering rampant religious fundamentalism.
In fact, it is not uncommon for the military to officially sanction fundamentalist religious groups under the guise of 'alcohol education'. By the way, enlisted military personnel attendance is MANDATORY at such meetings.
5. Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable'

The Archbishop fails to see the crux of the issue. If he did, he would understand why his comment regarding the 'unavoidable' institution of Sharia Law in the West invokes the ire of otherwise rational people.
The crux of the issue is this: Sharia Law is a legal code that explicitly defers to religious reasoning in its rulings. In other words, it is law for the Middle Ages - not for the Modern Age!
