1. Museum in censorship row over Darwin sign

Comment #238935 by paulifa1 on August 28, 2008 at 6:50 pm

Wow, this is just too awful for words. I had no idea until recently how bad it's getting here in the UK. Way back in the eighties when I was at school no one ever questioned the teaching of evolution and I'm pretty sure if they did the whole class would have made them a laughing stock, probably including the teacher, ah those golden less PC times... The only "wacky" religios type in the whole school to my knowledge was a jehovas witness and we all thought he was bonkers.

Now here we are 25 or so years later when you'd have expected we are a tiny little bit more enlightened, but no! I'm even bumping into bloody creationists at polite dinner parties and my teaching friend tells me he regularly gets some tosspot creationist kid or other blowing off in his biology class, in fact he even got a bollocking from the school head when he politely suggested the offending child needed to join the real world and the parents complained.

It's about time we stopped bieng so damded PC and ridicule these idiots as they deserve!

Wait!, news just in, God has gone into hiding!

He has just been spotted disguised as a fat bald man with many tatoo's shaking like a jelly somewhere in Lakeland, Florida. Further reports indicate he's committed the further offence of practicing medicine without a licence, mainly healing the bad backs & acne of a large number of gullible, gibbering, mentally deranged people, however, he seems happy to leave their mental impairment intact!

3. Storm erupts over 'virginity' divorce

Comment #186349 by paulifa1 on May 30, 2008 at 7:45 am

Just amazing, you would think that loving your new wife would come into play here, at worst finding out your wife isn't a virgin when you thought that she was should involve a heart to heart with her over a nice glass of wine (OK then maybe tea if your a mad muzzie!) followed by a making up session...

What the hell is wrong with these wrong thinking freaks!!!

Although, it is probably the best outcome for the wife, after all who would want to stay married to such a twat anyway?

Has anyone else noticed how he's speaking? (apart from the bullshit coming out I mean!) and his facial muscles, I think he may have suffered a stroke or some such recently. (not that gives him any more of an excuse for bieng such a complete moron)

Oh my goodness!, it must be true, one of those buggers must be coming round to shrink mine, seems to happen everytime the weather turns cold!!

But on a more serious note, how tragic, how can these people ever hope to move on until they manage to get past all this BS?

6. Cult leader Pyotr Kuznetsov tries suicide after realising he was wrong about doomsday

To Richard Morgan,
Richard, I do see where you are coming from, this sort of behavior is indeed tragic, but I disagree with your comment:

"Because I presume that atheists and rationalists are just as liable to suffer from mental sickness"

I would strongly suspect that those with minds that are more susceptible to believing the utter blather and nonsense (Memes?) fed to them by religious leaders are also far more likely to suffer from mental disorders than rational thinking people.

Also, I always find it amazing that a person walking around telling everyone they have an invisible friend called Elvis, who guides them through life is considered to be certifiable, yet substitute Elvis for Jesus, and the condition suffered becomes faith and is, at least in some quarters, respected!

Creationists will have no problem at all refuting this, it's just another example of the work of the enemy (read Devil) trying to test the faithfull and confuse those stupid atheists again!!

"Number One: More cakes!" priceless lol

8. Creationists plan British theme park

Although I don't think for a minute we should be complacent about these born again nutters, I can't see this ever happening here, whereas most xtian types in the states are creationist loons, this just isn't the case in the UK, apart from a minority of born agains, most churchgoers in the UK will think this is just as mad as we do, and the opposition to it will be from all sides including the good old church of england.

Another interesting point though, I think, is this type of evangelical behavior creates more Atheists/Agnostics than born again xtians, as it gets all the church of england moderates, who go to church for the warm and fuzzy "be good to each other" type sermon, that our local kind vicar preaches, as I used to do to(and my wife still likes to:( ) actually think about just what it is they are subsribing to with the xtian faith. The end result in many cases must be losing thier faith altogether.

A case in point is Ken Hams arguaments that if you don't take Genesis seriously and literally, the whole basis of the xtian faith including the new testament is undermined and falls apart, what he doesn't realise though, is that he is working for our cause, as when you analyse this, he is absolutely right, but I expect in most cases, (including mine) this leads to the conclusion it is all absolute rubbish! as opposed to what he actually desires, ie. conversion.

Or maybe I'm too optimistic?

Why do these nutters have no sense of humour? When people joke about my quirks or habits, or the fact I don't cut my lawn more than twice a year, I have a good laugh along with them. If they think my lifestyle of beliefs are crazy, great, so what??

I've seen this show, it's reasonably funny and I would think some moderate xtians would find it funny too...bloody xtian taliban :((

It almost makes me wish there was a god, when all these nutty born again twats turn up at the pearly gates, he could then give them a good bollocking for being such embarrasing freaks and making him look bad and throw them all into hell (lets face it, you wouldn't need any fire, hanging out with that lot would be the worst type of hell!), just prior to letting an astonished looking Dawkins and Hitchens in with a knowing grin and a wink...

10. In the name of God: the Saudi rape victim's tale

Comment #91781 by paulifa1 on November 29, 2007 at 8:44 am

The UK establishment isn't just tolerant of the Saudi regime because of oil, they have just completed a sale of state of the art aircraft and arms to the saudi's for several billion pounds sterling, only the latest of many such transactions! To see the queen giving the king of this disgusting regime the full pomp and circumstance treatment recently makes me feel ashamed to be british...

We should also remember todays arab friends can become tomorrows enemy, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we are not up against our own weaponry in 20 years time... (Maybe someone isn't so naive after all and there is a secret kill switch in the aircraft computers that we can activate to disable them if we are ever up against them!! lol)

11. Sam Harris seems like a nice fellow, but very confused

Comment #77393 by paulifa1 on October 9, 2007 at 7:44 am

On a completely lighter note, this arguament is beginning to remind me of that episode of South Park with future warring atheist factions!!

Come on guys, don't give the faith heads any ammo...
