Prove it. Without saying or paraphrasing any of the following:

"It's in the Bible."

"My parents/minister/God told me so."

"I just feel it's true."

"You wouldn't understand."

"Some things you just know."

"evangelical atheists"... because the pair that knocked on my door this morning at too-bloody-early AM were actually trying to make me join the atheist jihad!

I can't believe he mentioned Vulcans. Vulcans are far too logical to believe in religious fucktardism ^_^

"...it's not that we claim to have glimpsed "a unicorn in the garden" - we have a whole population of them living in my lab! [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unicorn_in_the_Garden] And lest you accuse me further of fraud, I do not literally mean that we have unicorns in the lab. Rather, I am making a literary allusion. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allusion]"

In other words...

"How do you like THEM bannanas?"

Dear Carol.

Thank you for re-telling what must have been the worst experiance of your life. As for what happened at your husbands funeral, I can sympathise. A great-aunt of mine died a few months ago, having been an atheist for most of her adult existance. Yet the funeral was conducted with a priest, and pslams were read before the cremation.

Afterwards I wondered whether she was laughing at us from somewhere.

10. The Case for Teaching The Bible

I would like to second several other posts. Personally I think studying the Bible would have added something to our English lessons. There are some books (His Dark Materials! :) that need knowledge of the Bible to enjoy fully.

The same applies to the Qu'ran, Norse mythology, etc. Why waste good stories?
