I wouldn't trust anything the Dalai Lama has to say, especially when it comes to China. The fact is, Tibet was a feudal society, and the Lamas were slave-owning aristocrats.

There's a really good book on Scientology (and LRH) called A Piece of Blue Sky. You could buy it on Amazon, but he also has it available for free in HTML format. Here's the link: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Library/Shelf/atack/
Also, check out this amusing site dedicated to L.Ron's "musical legacy": http://www.ronthemusicmaker.org/music/index.htm

Wow, I swear I'd never seen that! Brilliant, especially when he quotes XTC's "Dear God"!

I'll just say this: the "the shrill tones with which he pitches his anti-religious campaign" isn't half as shrill as the tones with which Christian fanatics condemn atheism, homosexuality, etc., in no uncertain terms.
It's hypocritical to say atheists shouldn't stand against irrational and destructive belief systems but that people can go door to door in my neighborhood spreading fliers encouraging people to pray "I am a sinner and deserve to go to hell unless I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior." (This came with a cheery little postcard asking, "Would you be interested in joining an old-fashioned Baptist church?" Uh, No, actually, I wouldn't!)...
It's not like atheists are traveling door to door and shoving copies of "Origin of Species" into people's hands!

Basically this event is designed to help Christians refine their knee-jerk reactions when the subject of evolution comes up in conversation.
Did anybody else cringe at this part: "...the tools necessary for exploring the meaning of life on your own." As if they're trying to convince people that their "event" is designed to teach people how to think critically!
6. Larry King Interviews Kathy Griffin

Regarding macros_man's question about Kathy Griffin's atheist beliefs: yes, she's declared herself an atheist on several occasions (including on a couple episodes of "My Life On The D List"), and she definitely "softened" her stance for Larry's show.
7. Are You Right Eyed Or Left Eyed?

I'm left handed and right-eyed as well.
I wonder if there's such thing as left or right ear dominance...
