2. Evidence can't shake your faith if your faith excludes it as evidence

It's not even worth trying to digest this repetitive nonsense, and the fact that it has blossomed over the last couple of years seems to suggest that these fundies are scared.
They've spent centuries trying to build a tower on a flimsy foundation, and it's starting to topple.
Kind of reminds of that block-stacking game Jenga: the structure is shaking, and the religious are frantically trying to rearrange the blocks to try and save face - if that makes any sense :-)
3. Ben Stein Wins Intelligent Design Money

From the trailer: "Maybe we're more than just mud and lightning..."
Hey, I'll take being made out of mud and lightning any day over being made by some celestial dictator.
Mud and lightning have never told me how to act, what to believe et cetera. Mud and lightning accept me for who I am.
Also, maybe, just maybe, the movie will bomb due to it not having the in-your-face obnoxiousness of Faux news that "average Americans" supposedly crave: I mean it is Ben Stein of all people.

It amazes me how Pat always hits the nail on the head when it comes to religion.
And as he said - and as I'm sure many people feel - the bible should be read, but only as a piece of literature, nothing more.
5. Happy Birthday Josh Timonen!

6. New atheists or new anti-dogmatists?

Excellent article.
It succinctly states where the new atheists...I mean anti-dogmatists seem to be coming from.

Thanks for the welcome Styrer.
I've been reading posts on this site for some time now, and I've enjoyed them for the most part; there are many great minds on here, and I'm pleased to be in their company.
Cheers.

This is my first time posting since I now feel that we have to clear up this whole heaven/hell/Jesus mess once and for all.
Surely fundamental Christianity isn't this bad, so I would like to extend a personal invitation to Jesus, so he can post on this board and clear up all the nasty things people are saying about him. He will surely get my invitation, he is Jesus after all. And after he posted, we'll know it was him because his user name will be so mind-blowing, that nobody with a human father would ever conceive of such a user name.
Hopefully then, everybody will see that we got him all wrong and that he is a pretty cool guy (or god). So come on Jesus, here's your chance, we'll all be waiting patiently for your reply.
Oh! Almost forgot the smiley, don't want Jesus to think that I'm making this request in mean spirits... :)
