Stone the crows, me donk's gone and done the Harold Halt! Must have been those flamin' galah hoon drongos down the road!

Translation: Oh dear, the engine is missing from my automobile. I have a suspicion the disreputable people living in my neighbourhood may have had some involvement.

Sure, Hitchens says some things that don't have substance, but they are generally intended as jokes. If they had actually picked the wheat from the chaff as this guy is advocating, rather than the exact opposite, they almost certainly would have found substance.

Also, did this video get cut off at the end? It seemed as if the guy was just about to respond to Dawkins' arguments.

It seems that the videos have been deleted due to a 'terms of use violation'. The right-wing censors strike again.

TonyA:

"He has a book called "The Lie: Evolution" in which he shoots a huge chunk of hypocrisy out of his own ass."

Is that the one with the outrageously funny cartoon drawings? I distinctly remember a picture with two castles, one on the side of evil (evolution) and one on the creationist side.

5. The Problem with Atheism

I disagree with Harris' views on the 'label' of Atheism, as much as I was concerned that we were lumped in with Secular Humanists. Surely, Harris recognises that Atheism is a conclusion, whereas Secular Humanism is a moral and philosophical system which is by no means limited to Atheists.

As for the stigma surrounding Atheism, I understand that the ignorant immediately place atheists under a stereotype, however I believe that we should not abandon the term. Atheism gives like minded individuals a sense of belonging, a very human need. The fact of the matter is, only the ignorant give Atheism a bad name. With time and education such as the work of RDFRS, hopefully much of this ignorance will be uplifted.
