*Them bones them bones them dry bones...

...Hear the word of the Lord.*

2. Robot with a Biological Brain: new research provides insights into how the brain works

Captain cyborg rides again. I bet his research students and post-docs were all hiding in the corridor trying desperately to stifle their guffaws when ever the mighty Warwick drummed up more research funding flimflam.

3. On TV: The Genius of Charles Darwin: Presented by Richard Dawkins

Would I be right in thinking that the Peahen is the bearer of the XY chromosomes?

If so, then it is the bearer of the Y chromosome that determines the phenotype of the bearer of the XX chromosomes.

Also, since the sex chromosomes in birds and mammals are reversed in gender, this accounts for male birds dancing, and female women shaking their thing.

Or at least that's my excuse for not making an idiot of myself on the dance floor... "sorry my dear, I'm afflicted with Y chromosome; where's the bar?"

Thank Christ it wasn't a matzo... and that it wasn't used in the Australian biscuit game!

6. My Response to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Good show Professor, but I would take issue on a small detail.

I don't believe that the Germans followed AH out of stupidity, it would have been desperation. Unless you mean that desperation leads to 'stupid' choices.

If so, then atheism and all other philosophies might achieve universal enlightenment by ending need and want.

Alas ending want is impossible, especially when it's armed with the biggest arsenal in the history of the world.

7. A New Flea in Town!

Who said that there was no such thing as bad publicity?

If it doesn't flatter Professor Dawkins' ego, then it will flatter his book sales.

8. Debate between Christopher Hitchens and Alister McGrath

Comment #79862 by JimmyGiro on October 18, 2007 at 6:51 pm

That was no debate, that was a monologue by Hitchens with McGrath providing extended punctuation.

It's to be expected that theists and atheists act as poles apart, but where is the sport if neither side speak the same language?

The 'moderator' failed to bring the antagonists to square off.
