At the risk of sounding inarticulate- what bollocks.

I truly expect better from the Times.

I wonder if he's a little frustrated-if you get my drift.

Especially with the whole "cured of masturbating" thing.

I can remember being six years old and having my teacher and class laugh at me for saying that humans had come from apes. my teachers reply: "I don't remember ever being a monkey!"

And this was at a state school...

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I'm sorry, that was bad, but I had to!

7. Why Science Will Triumph Only When Theory Becomes Law

I had a 'debate' with a creationist the other day.
The scariest thing wasn't how hackneyed his points of argument were, but the fact he's the head of science at our school.

8. Unorthodox Atheist

I go to a christian school, I didn't dare take the god delusion in after many friends advised me on the inordinate amounts of trouble I'd get into for possessing it. It didn't stop me lending it to those who wanted it though.

He was in the crack behind my sofa!

I constantly had someone at my old school try to convert me. I'd been atheist since I was ten and I saw no reason to change simply because one spotty little oik said I was going to hell.

11. If you don't accept the supernatural, you obviously think life is depressing, meaningless and cold

Absolute rubbish, so suddenly people must be made to believe in a completely irrational idea to be able to live life and be happy? Because I'll be honest, my life is very warm and fuzzy (?) without somebody constantly watching me and smiting me evey time I say "oh,god!" thank you very much!

12. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. were atheists, and they were terrible! Answer that!

Comment #85460 by dweebs on November 6, 2007 at 12:51 am

Hitler was a CATHOLIC.
Far from being a godless state, Nazi Germany enthusiastically worked with the catholic church.hitler also said "I am now, as before, a catholic, and will always remain so" In 1941.

3 years before that he said "by fighting off the Jews, i am doing the Lords work"

Infantry soldiers of Nazi Germany wore a belt with "Gott mit uns" (god is with us) on the buckle.

Also, while we're on the subject, Hitler was NOT a vegatarian, nor a vegan. he was recorded by his chef as liking bavarian sausages, game pie and stuffed pigeon.

why exactly, make (incorrect) statements saying atheism is bad because these people were atheist?
It's like saying all Christians are bad because of th Ku Klux Klan, or all Muslims are bad because of Bin Laden. In fact I think all religions have had their share of dodgy characters, so why pick on atheism? Frankly my friend, your statement is absolutely ridiculous.
