The woman had said she was not veiled when she lived in Morocco and had worn the burqa since arriving in France at the request of her husband. She said she wore it more from habit than conviction.

It portrays the pope finding the 11th Commandment while vacuuming. The commandment tablet says "Thou shalt enjoy sex". ;o)
I've been trying to find a good example list of flip-flopping by the Catholic Church. E.g. abolishing witch hunts, claims about souls from unborn babies going to limbo (or not) etc. Any good links, anyone?

The hidden assumption here is that someone should have a monopoly over how "their" religious characters and symbols can be portrayed or used. This is directly related to the argument that religious convictions somehow are of higher value than "mere opinions".
