1. Pope condemns 'pagan' love of money, power

Comment #248232 by silverlight on September 16, 2008 at 12:24 am

all talk and no action.

Rather than talking rubbish, why not the pope practice what he preaches? go to poor regions in africa and do some humanitarian work for instance?

Regarding modern world creating its idols, don't you catholics also worship many idols? virgin mary and the legion of saints?
shame on you pope!

2. Why Dawkins is right and his critics are wrong

Unlike religious fanatics with their 'either you're with us or with them' attitude, atheists endeavours to take objective view on things.

For sake of simplicity, take an apple for instance.
Religious (apple, in this case) fanatics would show you an apple and force you to believe that apple tastes sweet, without even letting you to taste it.
While atheists let you have the apple and eat it.

One can take as many post-doctorate research on apple but if one has never personally tasted it, one will never know.

3. Teachers should tackle creationism, says science education expert

Comment #247076 by silverlight on September 13, 2008 at 11:17 pm

Utter nonsense!
people of religion should not tread into the realm of science.
moreover, don't poison our young generation with your rubbish which is more properly taught in social studies!

4. Seven new deadly sins: are you guilty?

when life throws a lemon at you, make lemonade.

only in the case of catholic pope, he churned out some stinky shit.

5. God, power and money

Comment #141611 by silverlight on March 10, 2008 at 9:30 pm

I don't have anything against religious people. But people like hinn, who exploits other people's money by using god, is the most despicable hypocrites!
If god exists, he would've been thrown to the
deepest pit of hell.
But the followers are also to blame, following the 'sowing the seed' money argument which is basically pure greed, one of human's deepest desire.

6. Hebrew University researcher: Moses was tripping at Mount Sinai

If this is true, I pity those church followers in trying hard to accept logic and fervently believing nothing more than kiddie bedtime story.

7. Seven new deadly sins: are you guilty?

Tell that to your fellow sexually abusive catholic priests. May they rot in hell, bloody hypocrites!

9. Borders Tags Atheist Book with 'O Come All Ye Faithless' Cards

Comment #103282 by silverlight on December 24, 2007 at 11:42 pm

I don't see why Borders should apologise to the rest of religious people.
This is a free and democratic country.
Why do we have to lower our heads and tiptoe away carefully whenever religion is mentioned?
Ridiculous!
Good effort Borders!
All hail the faithless

11. Jail for creationist row killer

Comment #98567 by silverlight on December 13, 2007 at 9:46 pm

This is stupid!
why couldn't they settle it peacefully?

12. Atheists' sign sparks controversy

Comment #97991 by silverlight on December 13, 2007 at 12:56 am

I wonder why these religious people feel so paranoid just because of a harmless non-religious sign.
Remember that the city, the stores or the public toilets do not belong to christians or any other religions, they belong to all Americans.
Whatever happened to free speech?

13. Papal encyclical attacks atheism, lauds hope

Comment #93331 by silverlight on December 2, 2007 at 6:09 pm

"The Pope urged Christians to put their hope for a better future in God."

I'd rather put my future in the hands of technology.
Pope, if your god is great, why not perform miracles to rid world of AIDS, cancer and other diseases instead of pointless acts like declaring crusade wars and turning water into wine?

Pope, you're a hypocrite. It's always easier to spot others' faults rather than to admit one's own flaws. Just see how many paedophiliac catholic priests around, ready to pounce on innocent altar boys.

14. Megachurches Add Local Economy to Their Mission

Comment #92043 by silverlight on November 29, 2007 at 6:28 pm

Beneath the glossy and glitzy facade, it's all down to economic motives.
Churches nowadays are so commercialised. Aren't they ashamed of what they do?

If these people are caring towards fellow human beings, why not go to africa and set up hospitals and shelters there?

15. Turkey probes atheist's 'God' book

Comment #92035 by silverlight on November 29, 2007 at 6:12 pm

Despite Turkey is a largely secular country, there are still narrow-minded religious people who do not understand the meaning of democracy and freedom of thinking.
I think Turkey should be exempted from EU membership as long as they cannot tolerate and accept differences in views, especially pertaining to religion.
