1. Scientists reshape Y chromosome haplogroup tree gaining new insights into human ancestry

Comment #194629 by SamKiddoGordon on June 17, 2008 at 5:37 am

I got the results back yesterday, Im a Cro-Magnon!! Out of a group of maybe 100 individuals, my non-african acnestor left africa about 39,000 to 71,000 years ago, travelled up through Iran, then around to Europe. Climate was a big factor as to when and where they moved.

I will make no apologies, I have 5 kids, and I think I am smarter than the average bear. But they are hard work, which may drive me to an early grave. What are all you people doing? Gotta pass on the good genes guys. LOL

Canada is a wonderful place, but we need a lot more atheists.

5. Evolution: What is 'Natural'?

Comment #179054 by SamKiddoGordon on May 12, 2008 at 1:07 pm

All this seeminly pointless debates leads me to wonder if "man" even has reason. Definately our own perspective would indicate that, but reason seems to beyond the ID crowd, so if they are human, are the rest of us reasonable? We are animals, so why do we think the rest of the animal kingdom cant reason? We make so many asumptions of intelligence, morals, reason, even life itself. Unless we question those "givens" how can we question where it comes from?

We are all in the Matrix dudes.

God is Fraud

8. Bill Good Interviews Richard Dawkins

Comment #173248 by SamKiddoGordon on April 30, 2008 at 2:39 pm

I listened to Richard live on monday, the news and ads are part of the regular programming for the morning time slot. I know its repetative, and I enjoyed the smackdowns, but its new and different audiences. I didnt realise that Richard was going to be in Vancouver, or I might have driven the 20 hours to go down from northern ALberta. Its a wasteland up here, no reasonable free thinkers in sight, but all are welcome to come visit.

10. Museums teach society lacking in science literacy

I thought of a catch phrase lastnight for atheists.

Religion is History
Science is present.

11. Investigating Atheism

So we are to expect cambridge university to be neutral on the subject? What is it they hope to really accomplish? Truth and reality is not up for debate, it just is what it is, like it or not.

This kind of mentality can only prove that humans evolved from apes. Some not so very long ago.

Rod the Farmer,

I ordered 2 kits lastnight, one for my wife and one for myself. I will let you know when we get it back, but it could take a while. I will do the Y chromosome, my wife will do the maternal mitochondrial DNA. I had wanted to do this before, but lost track of time. Now we gan show this info to our 5 kids. Yes 5, an atheist with 5 kids, cant let the religious crowd populate the world now can we.

14. Happy Birthday, Richard Dawkins!

Hope you have one candle to blow out for every birthday wish.

15. EXPELLED!

Comment #147704 by SamKiddoGordon on March 21, 2008 at 6:23 am

This is amazingly funny, if thats a word. I can think of how highly improbable for an event like this to happen, probably even more improbable than the begining of live here on earth. But its happened. Sorry PZ, but looks like "unnatural selection" favored Richard this time. It might be a while before we hear from Richard, I dont think everything he could say would be contained in just one book, but a whole series.

16. State Approves Evolution As 'Scientific Theory'

Comment #129666 by SamKiddoGordon on February 19, 2008 at 12:43 pm

I propose creating an athiest/intelligencia/scientific virtual on-line state. Anyone who is an athiest can become a virtual citizen. Together, that state would have incredible lobbying power, and maybe even create a physical state. You can borrow some acres I have off in the woods of northern Alberta Canada.

Child abuse, using minors to commit fraud, brainwashing. How many crimes have been commited on these children. What has to be done to prosecute the parents?

19. Atheists An Increasingly Outspoken Minority

Comment #129194 by SamKiddoGordon on February 18, 2008 at 9:00 pm

"Goodness" has to come from inside, or you yourself are not good, its something else. I stuggle all the time with what is "goodness", but knowing that when someone is stuck in 3 feet of snow, I am not going to leave without giving them every help they need.

21. Potentially Habitable Planets Are Common, Study Says

Comment #129188 by SamKiddoGordon on February 18, 2008 at 8:49 pm

They know that organic molecules are in the nebulae all over the universe. I think that life will be found to be widely disperse, seeded from these naturally forming molecules, many varieties, viruses, rna, dna. If the conditions are at all favorable, the pre-biotic hydroponic soup gets a few seeds an voila, life. these seeds help in the diversification of life, and have been shown to match with periods of meteoric activity. The conditions were ripe here, the seeds, well, are star dust.

Comment #129184 by SamKiddoGordon on February 18, 2008 at 8:41 pm

I put my 3 children in a catholic school for a year. My wife pleaded that it had better funding, better learning environment. I had told my kids to just watch and learn, question everything they were told, and what their beliefs were, what the teachers said not what was nessisarily true, but keep an open mind. I am happy to say that my kids can spot the fraud, we moved, and now they go to public school.

I have 352 acres, I want to start my own country. No one can be born there, you have to be accepted for scientific knowledge, and must be an Athiest. What other points shall we have, what constitution?

I spent 2 winters in Denmark, and did get over to Sweden. Its remarkable the people that live there, civilized cultures of some of the oldest around, and leaders in education and secular intelligence. People I would be proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with. I am continually surprized that such ignorance as islam can be passed of as religion, a culture, or even a humanity. Only in the absence of any intelligence, truth, knowledge, or goodness, do you find religion.

I have 352 acres of nice Canadian forest, how many nice sharp splintery sticks would they like?

This land is available for any athiest that wishes to use it to help promote science, freedom of inquiry, skepticism, and a good life without the need for superstition or religious belief.
