It seems at least one state has its head screwed on right; however, being the most liberal and open-minded state in the U.S., California unfortunately doesn't represent the whole. This would be much more of a shock if it occured in say, Kansas, Texas, or Louisiana. Nevertheless, it gives me some small hope for my overzealous nation.
2. PLEASE WRITE IN SUPPORT OF PZ MYERS

Dear President Bruininks;
I'm writing in support of Professor Paul Zachary Myers regarding his recent controversy with the Catholic League over his website's post about the desecration of the Eucharist. Professor Myers is one of the internet's most prominent advocates for the application of reason and free speech, providing thought-provoking insight on some of the most controversial topics in our society today.
The fact that Professor Myers is receiving death threats shows just how dangerous religious fundamentalists can be. Professor Myers open skepticism and unwillingness to "take things on faith" simply isn't compatible with these overzealous individuals.
I encourage you to support Professor Myers right's to free speech. His voice is a much-needed influence in the public sphere.
Sincerely,
(Name)

Obama is making me really question whether I should vote for him or not. Sadly, the choices are limited and he may be the lesser of two evils. It's really just ridiculous.

Good for her...it's heartening to see Islamic women standing up and speaking against fundamentalism. Of course, it's at the same time tragic that she needs to speak in the first place, and even more tragic that her life is in danger for simply promoting a non-radical viewpoint.

Stopped reading half way through...the same tired arguments beat to death by someone who has very little knowledge about science.

They seem bewildered that people lose their religion when they go to college. It's called education, you stop believing stupid things at face value. Also, you've got to love the call near the end towards indoctrinating children at a young age...after all, there's solid, historical, scientific reasons for them to belive...
