You all are missing a very important point here: Carl Rove is an admitted unbeliever and I have no doubt that Bush serves as his own narcissistic diety. These people are utterly cynical, much like Falwell, and will embrace anything that empowers them. They love this crap! These are their people and they can't get psychotic enough to suit the Bush bunch. These are the dregs of Bush's power base and he is not thereby embarrassed in the least. Dr. Goebbels talked at great length about this in his modest update of Machiavelli.
