1. Faith no more as World Youth Day fans flames of disbelief

Just a minor pedantic point for those calling the author a he. He is actually a she.

EDIT - damn, mmurray beat me to it. But I'm still going to post. So there.

"Hands up anyone who would hire Andrea Williams as a barrister."

No way. I'd rather make my own coffee thanks.

Foul mouthed misanthropy? Richard Dawkins? Surely the man jests!?

5. Americans pray at the pump for cheaper petrol

Comment #179877 by KiwiInOz on May 13, 2008 at 11:10 pm

Bloody hell. Australian petrol prices go up and down 12 cents in the space of 12 hours. What are they grizzling about?

I'm assuming that praying at the pump is actually just a silent or not so silent show of protest.

You're not in Alice Springs, Australia, by any chance? There is a Irish pub/Indian restaurant there - and I thought that it was the only one in the world.

10. Three wise men just legend: archbishop

Comment #101741 by KiwiInOz on December 20, 2007 at 9:09 pm

My understanding, and I'm happy to stand corrected, is that the wise men (3 or otherwise) actually visited Mithra at his (virgin) birth a couple of hundred years before JC. Yet another co-opting.

11. Clegg 'does not believe in God'

Comment #100950 by KiwiInOz on December 19, 2007 at 5:27 pm

I'm happily atheist and am married to an agnostic Catholic (in a catholic church). All three of my kids went to a Catholic primary school (the youngest is still there). My eldest daughter is agnostic, my eldest son is atheist, and my youngest son hasn't got there yet but laughs at the inanity of the bible stories. I have christian, agnostic and atheist friends. I can understand where this guy is coming from.

It is refreshing to hear from a political leader.

12. God rest you merry atheist

Bonzai - it's hot! And in Brisbane we often have thunderstorms to boot.
