1. Logical Proof of the Existence of a Divine Creator, Why Atheism is Not Logically Sound

Comment #191765 by Slippy on June 11, 2008 at 4:02 pm

I sent the author an email, nothing to strong but pointing out how sad I am that there will be people nodding along in agreement with this drivel etc. Had a few responses as well as the standard everyone seemed to get. I was informed I had no self respect for failing to address the points in the debate, when I pointed out I didn't see any valid points to debate I was labeled pathetic, hungarianelephant, I hope you don't mind but I pointed the author to your post referenced below as I thought it was so utterly perfect in demonstrating exactly why the article said absolutely nothing. I take my hat off to you for completing my argument so satisfactorily.

Read her blog, honestly. Got a little way through it and nearly puked, skim through until you reach the part about how god effectively tells you what to teach in your home schooling classes

The Lord called us to homeschool and He will guide us each step of the way. Instead of making plans after careful research, prayerfully ask Him to lead you as you research; ask Him to lead your plans. He didn't call us and then expect us to figure it all out. He didn't purpose for us that we should educate these children of His and then leave it in our hands to decide what plans and courses we should choose for them. The Lord called us because He has a pupose for our children. He has specific plans for them that are for their good, for a hope and a future. As we seek Him, He will lead us in what He wants for them to accomplish, and how we should go about doing that. We only need to co-labor with God, to cooperate with Him in moving our children into His wonderful will for them.

Fucking unbelievable

Honestly,

When I read this type of shit all that goes through my head is a circus bear riding a bike in circles with the circus music in the background.

Can you imagine the scorn that would be poured over this speech if it came from a pagan priest (or whatever they call themselves) or some other ancient superseded religion? Some bloke speaking twaddle about the truth behind Zeus and the obvious revelation of truth of Thor in a babies smile...

They would simply be laughed of the stage and more than likely monitored rather closely by people in white coats. It has to stop, it really has to stop.

Remnant,

Can you please answer my question from post 4045, without bibl quotes.

I have thousands of questions I'd love to ask you. I have found your responses to everyone's questions and posts fascinating. I disagree with almost everything you are saying (where I don't disagree I simply don't understand) but it's clear you genuinely believe in your words and your sincerity is clear. that's what worries me. I know that this will not concern you as you seem to know truth and truth is god etc etc. but for people who live in the real world, this is what makes religion frightening, that people can still be this blind and brain washed.

If people believe, like you do, then there is nothing that is wrong, evil, immoral, stupid or hurtful that these people could do, so long as they know it is the will of god, and god is just and god is love. hear me out here, your probably not going to go and hurt someone because they call god a fairy tale or name a bear jebus. But do you see that your unerring belief is just a gnats hair from where these fundies are? You truly believe that god is the word, well, god tells you can kill anyone who worships false idols. if god said so, in your world god is truth so it must be necessary to kill these folks. or have I missed something? if its free will that's stopping you and god gave you free will is it a test? if you did kill someone for worshipping a false idol would that be bad in gods eyes? if so did he lie in the bibl? if he lied in the bibl does that mean gods word isn't the truth? I'm all confused.

I'd like to ask one final question, something you have levelled at most people on here who has asked you questions about god.

Why are you so concerned about people who don't believe in god? as you say, the universe is the universe and god is god. If no one believed in him nothing would change. So why does it bother you that some people (in your mind) have used gods free will to decide it's just plain nonsense. You win, they lose, everyone gets burned except the god squad.

Please don't give me the rubbish that you have to make everyone a believer. If that is your response then I'm afraid your actually are up there with the nuts who blow things up.

Remnant - I really don't have the time to educate you on things that you won't even seek out on your own.

We have God's entire, complete, revealed Word, something they did not have. Are you starting to understand yet?

Do you really have gods complete word? If so, why did that pope fella come out with all that rubbish about new deadly sins? Or did god tell him to do that?

Should the bible get a make over? Re print with some additional notes and a few edits? Maybe this could happen every few years when the interpretations change to suit the time and attitude?

EDIT - Thanks for answering the questions I asked. I appreciate it. Few more for you though on something else you wrote & a couple from your answers to my original questions,

You say If someone has not heard of Christ but because of the God consciousness written in their heats, believes in God and tries their best to live moral lives

How do I find out more about this god consciosness written into the heart?

How do you know that jesus wasn't a nut proclaiming to be the son of / the actual bible god. If, as I am sure the bible states, jesus actually said he was the lord, would this not make bible god angry that people believed him? I was under the impression that if you put faith in something other than bible god it ticked him off a bit.

Remnant - At this point, sin entered the world. Sin is disobedience to God. God did not force man to be disobedient; man chose disobedience with free will. At this point man's sin nature separated man from God. God had a problem. God is holy and just. Because of his holiness, God cannot allow sin into His presence. His justness demands punishment for sin

If bible god created everything surely he created sin? If not how did it enter the world? Did man create it? if so bible god has to have sin in him as he created man in his own image. why didn't bible god just not make sin? or when he came across it just delete it, surely bible god has some kind of undo button. Is sin just disobedience to bible god? how then is stem cell research now an improved deadly sin? I have not seen anything in the bible relating to stem cell research?

My Gran said that sin comes from a mixture of bats ear and toads nads. You need to simmer it in sea water for several hours and just before it's ready put a pinch of dried skin in, a pinch mind, any more and it turns into something else completly. If you want new and improved sin you have use a pinch of dried fairy skin and leave it a little longer.

In answer to your question about me putting my faith in christ - No, i'm afraid I have not. I am a follower of Gran, the holy mothers mother, the creator of all we see today.

TruthID,

I have a different take on evolution, I'm with you. It stinks. I have been looking into it for years and if you put aside all of the study and proofs that make sense I come to the same conclusion. How can it possibly be correct? That's where we differ though, from here on I offer my alternative to both ID and evolution.

My Gran did it. She told me. 87 years ago she decided she was going to create everything exactly as it stands today. Now I know what you're going to say, where is my proof! Where is my evidence? Well I have evidence, complete and utter proof. I just don't know if your mind is open to it.

And all you evolution loving people on here. I know your going to come at me with name calling etc but you can't prove that my Gran didn't do it. None of you can. I know in my heart that Gran was right. It's the only satisfactory theory that works.

Aaawwwww.

He'll never answer now. For the sake of the question I'll keep it simple. The bible in question is Remnants bible. Remnants very own print. If Remnant has several bibles then I'll accept his favourite.

I'm all giddy with anticipation.

Remnant,

I have a few questions for you if you're still around and will do me the courtesy of answering.

I have read the majority of your posts on this thread and as you seem to be the authority on how bible god works you should be able to answer no problem.

You say in one of your posts that bible god will deliver what we choose and that we must choose bible god in order to get some of the good stuff after we die. My questions are based upon this premise.

What happens to anybody who does not know about the bibles god (tribes people, deaf, dumb & mute people etc)? Will they die and get a shock to find that they are going to be cast into the eternal fires of hell because they didn't accept that jesus was resurrected?

What happens to all other believers?(non bible god believers)

What happens to all the people who died before jesus? they couldn't have accepted that he was resurrected could they, what happens to them? Are they just really unlucky and have to burn? can't be just, fair and loving that can it?

I only ask because these are genuine worries for me. I hate to think that some poor tribesman who has no concept of how loving and just bible god is, is going to burn in hell for eternity when he doesn't even know the rules. Can god not pop a bible down to him so he has a fighting chance?

Sorry to be a pain but I'd really like to know.

11. Get out of here, atheists!

Comment #156657 by Slippy on April 8, 2008 at 5:42 am

I agree with other posters who have already noted something similar. In my opinion the explosion of dross spouted can only have been out of frustration that this non believer had the gall to question the underhand misuse of funds when it was clearly being used for the greater good. From her position of fact i.e. god exists & my religion is the right religion, she can quite justifiably condone and agree with illegal acts if the cause is ultimately to benefit her beliefs of what is just and good. I think the outburst may well have started out as an appeal to anyone within earshot that the case being made was an act of evil & hatred and to divert the attention away from true case in point. With this in mind the instruction not to respond to the outrageous outburst, in my opinion was correct, to allow any rebuttal would have taken the spotlight further from the real reason for being there. I do however think the outburst ended in a spluttering froth of fury and outrage at a man (and anybody else for that matter) who does not share her belief.

12. EXPELLED!

Comment #147695 by Slippy on March 21, 2008 at 6:13 am

Can you believe this Kevin Miller? This from his blog, All I can think about when reading is deluded deluded deluded.

Expelled from "Expelled"
That's right, folks. The blogosphere is buzzing over the fact that PZ Myers, who has a minor role in Expelled, got the boot from a private screening held in Minneapolis last night. The reason? He wasn't invited. But PZ's partner in crime, Richard Dawkins, who has a major role in Expelled, managed to sneak in undetected. Way to go Richard!

While poor PZ was crying foul on his blog, associate producer Mark Mathis was going head-to-head with Dawkins in front of an appreciative crowd. My only regret is that we didn't have a camera there to film it all. Suffice to say, Dawkins' peformance won't earn him an award any time soon.

Incidents like this make me want to hug PZ. He and his peanut gallery have been lighting up switchboards (not to mention my blog) across the web with their cries of outrage. They're the best PR team a guy could wish for. Keep up the good work!

Look for an official response to this episode on the Expelled blog soon. And don't forget, the film will be in theaters everywhere--even Minneapolis--on April 18. So perhaps PZ will get a chance to see it after all.

13. The Atheist Apocalypse

Comment #146372 by Slippy on March 19, 2008 at 2:24 am

Can't agree that this is good, self congratulatory rubbish I say. It re-enforces the image of atheist 'spiritual leaders' and the grouping of atheists as having a common belief and goal. I don't have a goal as an atheist other than to live my life without it being interfered with by other peoples belief.
