1. Logical Proof of the Existence of a Divine Creator, Why Atheism is Not Logically Sound

Comment #190928 by Healyhatman on June 9, 2008 at 11:52 pm

OF COURSE the bible said that the stars couldn't be counted (which they obviously can since there aren't an infinite number of them)..

The torah was written in what, the bronze age? What are they going to do, sit there and count the stars they can see one by one? Not bloody likely. They're going to give up and say "can't be counted".

I do like that they take INCREDIBLY vague passages like "nothing new under the sun" and say "lookit, first law of thermodynamics!". That, to me, is the best part about these biblical literalist types. Like the muslims going on about how their holy book has scientific facts in it, ignoring the part where it describes the earth as a carpet. Or the bible, ignoring the part in genesis where the guy breeds coloured goats by making them look at coloured sticks while they mate.

All anyone need to to disprove the bible / koran as ascience books is point out the parts that are complete and utter glaring bullshit.

2. The Expelled Evolutionist

Ha! Should have the right to teach what they believe in? What about the children's right to a decent and proper education, should that come second to the teachers wish not be offended by what they have to teach?

And if that sort of bullshit gets in, soon we'll have teachers telling kids not about evolution or even creationism, but about Xenu the Space Emperor

3. When two worlds collide: threat of class warfare over faith-based schooling

It's not CHOICE at all!

What fucking choice do the children get? I think this quote from the article sums it up quite nicely.

"This argument leads to a line we should not cross, where children are denied the right to an education whose values reflect the faith of their families and community. "

Children denied the right to an education... based on what their fundamentalist family and neighbours tell them is true, based on what the bible tells THEM is true.

I will also be personally boycotting Gloria Jean's - which is okay I usually prefer Starbuck's anyway. Although GJ's DOES have the Voltage drink (coffee, ice, milk, and chunks of coffee beans)...

But I don't want to be buying things from people related to bullshit like this.

5. State Approves Evolution As 'Scientific Theory'

Comment #129767 by Healyhatman on February 19, 2008 at 2:56 pm

At least it's not "the theory of evolution".

The "scientific theory of" makes it a lot easier - explain to the kiddies what the difference between a scientific theory and a lowest-common-denominator-usage of theory is.

Sick of those fundies calling for the scientific criticisms of evolution though - what they really mean is the pseudo-scientific criticisms invented by ID.

6. A Letter From Hell

Comment #115857 by Healyhatman on January 24, 2008 at 11:38 pm

I read some of the comments on the GodTube site about this video.... Some guy was so happy to have a video like this, so proud of his Christian morals in showing it to his CHILDREN... His 11, 9 and FOUR YEAR OLD children. That does in fact sound like child abuse to me.

Why do these freaks talk about their God being loving and gentle and kind... And then in the next breath go on about people being thrown to hell for not accepting jesus as their personal savior? The end of this sick film talks about a little girl. The narrator says he hears the little girls screams coming to him from Hell... What kind of God would throw a child into Hell for not worshiping him? How young does a child have to BE to not get thrown into hell according to these freaks? Is four too old? 3? Must a toddler's first word be "jesus" to prevent them being thrown into their Lake of Fire?

To the person who posted this - I hope your child's mind hasn't been corrupted by this disease, this text-adventure snuff-film. And I hope you find the child who gave him the link, and make SURE that child's parents get an extremely stern talking to - recruiting their own child to distribute filth like this is the height of Christian child-abuse and needs to be stamped out.

7. Ben Stein Bribing Schools to See His Anti-Evolution Movie 'Expelled'

HA! Probably the only thing true about this movie would be the title and catchphrase....

"EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed"

(In case you're wondering, it's the second part I'm commenting on... :P )
