1. Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November...

Sadly this DJ is yet another poor gullible chap. He lacks a mature intellectual approach to support his weakly supported support of the Bible. He typifies how faith in a stuffy old book has usurped reason, even in the 21st Century. Oh well, it's people like him who will be seen as the lunatics in future generations.

2. The Blasphemy Challenge

I appreciate the purpose of this blasphemy challenge on YouTube. The comments above truly demonstrate that organizing atheists is 'like herding cats' as Dr. Dawkins predicted.

I suspect the most vehement critics of this competition still have some small reservations about their denial of the Holy Spirit. Would they be so critical if the YouTube competition called for people to deny the Tooth Fairy?

Although criticism usually has a mild opposite effect of creating more inquiry and awareness of a subject, could that necessarily be a bad thing? As opponents of the existence of the fictional Yawveh, we should be happy to cause further thought and discussion on this subject.

Naturally, there will be a backlash. We would be naive not to expect one. However, any reaction is better than none. I am still entertained that the pope told people not to watch the Da Vinci Code - you coudn't pay for that kind of publicity. The pope may not realize how many catholics left the religion because of his warning, rather than because of some fictional blockbuster movie.

Let's continue with the provocative discussion. Talk is never bad.
