I'm from Winnipeg and this was today's front page news, which pleased me. I wonder how many parents in the city had to explain to their children how and why God hid those fossils there?

It's so easy to laugh at these guys, but the point that stuck with me is the lack of atheists "doing their homework" as the announcer puts it.
I'd love to say I don't need to read any of the material from the other side as I've already read the one Major Work (at least bits of it).
However, I'd feel much more assured and satisfied if I could read a major book of theology and call it BS for myself. Does anybody have any suggestions of a few books offering an alternative position that's at least somewhat readable?
