We had the first gay marriage here in Iceland yesterday.
I was rather disappointed that those 2 girls actually went to the national church to get married, even i did fight for their right to do so.
The clergy did bend the bible to stay on disability money from the government

My take on the matter was that this is a national church funded by icelanders and as such they can not refuse gay marriage.
For me this was a step in taking god of the payroll.
I will continue to challenge gays NOT getting married in the church, and i will continue my fight for EVERY religious group that gets government funding/tax discount or whatever WILL have to marry gays also if they requst so.

If religious group stands 100% on their own, no tax discounts or nothing... well they they can refuse.

P.S. Im not gay :)
