1. Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens

Comment #179887 by MHA on May 14, 2008 at 12:02 am

Oh Vatican, you just confirmed that religion is just a meme that evolves. It just sucks in everything that human mind comes up with and tries to assimilate it to itself, no matter if the origin of the idea is pagan or "divine". And what comes to religion itself, I think The Pope John puts it the right way:

an error resulting from "tragic mutual incomprehension."

Religion, what a waste of time and effort of thinking.

Cool song. Not my cup of tea though, I like my music a little bit heavier. I got the idea that it is pro sciense and could actually appeal to younger population. I guess that's pretty cool drug against religious indoctrination that our schools are full of nowdays. :)

Happy Birthday Professor Dawkins!

Thank you for this great website and your passion for sciense!

4. New Atheists Are Not Great

Atheism cannot reach our hearts. A rigorous atheist cannot console in a time of grief, cannot explain love, cannot sigh in happy wonder at life's endless surprises. He can only utter, "What is, is."

Striking to me is this hasty reservation of feelings only for theist. Why atheists are incapable to console in the time of grief? I think it is a load of crap. I have to say that as an atheist I know my feelings are genuine and coming from me. My feelings are not false just to satisfy some god or created just from the fear of wraht of any god. To feel is human, not divine.

Heh, and those life's endless surprises. If you truly believe in creation, well that is the ultimate killjoy by providing answer "it was just created that way" to every damn question. As an atheist, I really have to go beyond these surprises and see how they really work and are tangled together to form this beautiful endless system we call life.
