1. Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher

The Richard Dawkins interview made my night, especially his reaction when he found out Francis Collins really believes in "the talking snake".

2. What do these atheists understand of religion?

There are no experiments and tests to explain love, empathy, longing, the agony and ecstasy of the heart, the wild and wonderful creativity of the brain, that thing that happens to you when a full moon appears above the sea and is reflected in it. Sorry, but knowing the science of why the moon shines is irrelevant to the experience. Faith is the light of the moon above and that light in the sea, reality and spirituality, both making you tremblingly conscious of forces vast and beyond words. Impertinent scientists cannot know what they speak of.

This is the most beautiful thing I have ever read. I think I may just go back to God. Yeah right. What the hell does this have ANYTHING to do with what this lune is trying to say? This is totally irrelevant. Believer always use this arguement: it is the last rock they can hide behind. But who can say that science cannot prove God's existence? Once again, one Christian presents the epitome of Christian irrationality.

I love the picture on "The New Atheists". Personally, this is a perfect time for religious writters to jump on the band wagon, and make quick cash on these atheist response books. I guess church donations are down. Or people took George Carlins advice: "Wanna know how to get rid of counterfeit money? Put it in the collection plate at church."

4. Evidence can't shake your faith if your faith excludes it as evidence

That is, Augustine's first principle of sound interpretation is that an interpretation is sound if it confirms the truth of the Christian faith.

Oh yeah, Christians don't bend things to their will. Bullshit. For one thing, they will interpret anything ti fit their beliefs. Secondly, there can be no accurate interpretation when the entire Bible is a paradox. Not one goddamn thing in the book of lies makes any sense. I am supposed to place my faith in a God who changes His mind more than He changes His underwear? And, to quote Lemmy: "A girl impregnated by a ghost? If Joseph believed that, he deserved to be in a stable."

the God the atheist denies is not the God that people of true faith affirm

*sniff sniff* I smell the biggest, steaming pile of bullshit on the face of this Earth. That man needs to re-ezamine "The God Delusion" and read his Bible again. If those are not the same God, then I have a soul.

I love how the Atheist and Christian book output ratio is about...what? 4:24. It defends my theory that Christians need reassurance, and that religion is nothing more than a mass-movement full of frustrated individuals who hate their life, and want to believe an invisible man in the sky is in charge of it. Pathetic.

7. Don't write off religion - it can be the key to a stable family

Atheist fundamentalists, I can't help thinking, see religion in their own image: they're curiously drawn to the fanaticism of other fundamentalists.

Atheist fundamentalists?! When was the last time a group of atheists killed people in the name of Darwin, or evolution, or science? Obviously, this lady listened to Pat Robertson too much. Atheists do not have strict guidelines they have to adhere to, and will kill those who stray. Okay, some may seem a little pissed off, but can you blame us? Religion is leading people into the toilet, and all we want is for them to see the light (the sun), and realize God is nothing more than superstition.

8. Was there ever dog that praised his fleas?

People who get offended when someone criticizes their beliefs reveal they are not at all certain in their beliefs. Christians live in fear that God does not exist, so when someone points out that His existence is improbable or impossible, they get their feathers all ruffled up. Christianity is egoism in its worst form. Or as I like to say: Christianity Is The Crucifixion Of Reason.

9. Richard Dawkins on five of his favorite books

In no particular order:

1. Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche
2. The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine
3. 1984 by George Orwell
4. Creative Evolution by Henri Bergson
5. A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (helped with depression)
