1. Churches' secret talks to stop gay surge

Comment #205413 by eclampusvitus on July 7, 2008 at 8:49 am

Stories like this almost make me wish there was a Jesus looking down on us. He'd smite those dress-wearing, cannibal bigots between the eyes with a fish. And a couple loaves, what the hell. He's got lots.

Is this anything but a prime example of the churches' hypocrisy?

Focus on the Family is an immoral organization that prefers cervical cancer to immunization.

It appears their "thinking" is that immunization against cervical cancer and other results of Human Papillovirus infection leads to *gasp* premarital sex.

The primitive evil that this group represents is precisely the wickedness against which we have found the spine to resist.

"Death before dishonor" is a fine motto for the Marines. It is not a philosophy to be thrust onto normal young women.

The good folks in Tayside now know how to keep Muslims out of their establishments.

The Chamber of Commerce there (or whatever they call it in Scotland) should start a poster campaign with Terry the Tayside Porker.

"Terry says: Shop Tayside!"

If it works, I'll consider it a vacation venue.

I hereby declare myself a religious scholar.

Islam is a worldwide problem, and has the potential to incite a worldwide conflagration.

I'm fairly certain there is no Los Angeles, England.

Your post was immature, irrelevant, cheap, and easy. Worse yet, you beat me to it.

What does it say about a religion that it has to invent such creative ways to lie, to themselves, each other, and especially vulnerable children?

Never mind, I know what it says.

In the same fashion we wonder why the "moderates" in the Islamic world are so silent about the horrors their extremists wreak, we should insist that scientifically literate Christians denounce the evil, regressive liars within their club.

One must wonder if there is a legal remedy.

Despite glowing reviews from several obscure bible colleges, Expelled debuted at #9 in box office receipts. That was last weekend.

This weekend, it did not register in the somewhat modest top 10.

Seems the film is a flop. A bust. In Hollywood parlance, a Piece of Shit.

Last week is grossed about $3 Million. This week, much, much less. Yoko may have nothing to sue for.

I have decidedly mixed feelings when I say I'm proud that Americans preferred "Baby Mama" and "Harold and Kumar" to "Expelled". You understand.

To be sure, there would be precious little difference if Gore or Kerry were President, but what hypocrisy becomes apparent when America lectures North Korea or Sudan about "human rights" while we maintain diplomatic relations with the Vatican. That Medieval institution has protected and enabled an "elite army of child molesters".

What's next? Diplomatic relations with the Grand Mullah of the Kaaba?

I just saw a TV ad for "Expelled". It featured a quick shot of a quizzical Richard Dawkins. The clear intent was that he was confused by the premise of the film.

Dr. D:

I don't really keep up with movies. Could that be because I live in Hollywood?

Anyway, I learned of this film here, and have kept up with its "progress". I haven't seen it yet, of course, nor will I pay to do so, but from its own website and trailer, it's obviously dishonest.

As if your books weren't enough, this website is an important source of information. It's fun, too.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.
