This chap says "God expects more from us"I would like to know when his god appeared and told him that, all these people say God said this or that....

He says Nazis said Jews are an inferior race. He says that it is a scientific truth!!!!

Poor chap he needs to know that race has nothing to do with intelligence, it has more to do with inheritance, genes, cultural habbits ...... Strangely Jewish people have more Nobel laureates than people of any other culture. If race were true Arabs should also have equal number of Nobel Laureates [Jews and Arabs are of the same race- Semitic race, by the way no race is supposed to be pure] But it is the culture of Jews, they have been pushed for centuries and were allowed only certain kinds of professions ,they have produced the best minds out of a need to survive in a difficult world.

John Humphrys appears to be a decent person who accepts and respects atheists and theists alike, a good quality indeed.

This Prof. Craig clearly shows that any amount of knowledge or the capacity to understand complex theories do not guaranty that intelligence to stand alone without an imagined father in heaven. This is spiritual poverty or spiritual ignorance. Religion is anti-reason and anti-truth.No amount of rational explanation can help people understand something they have accepted through irrational means. When man understands that fear, god and loneliness are the creation of thought and uses thought only for the right purpose can he escape from this mental crutch or addiction.

A politician may quote the greatest quotations on truth, be a master communicator [Ronald Reagan, Billy Graham] but may have no idea how to derive it all by himself. I wonder if good education could save humanity from God. God is the only hope for the hopeless. If you take that hope away they have no tomorrow, no light to see further. It is too much to ask. No one can get rid of this Ghost called God. It is here to stay for ever. Human mind needs illusions to live on.People want to live a lie. We all know that a movie is unreal but we still love getting involved. God is deeper than that. Belief is an unconscious thing. So no amount of talking to the conscious mind can change that.Trying to talk reason to a believer is like talking to a wall.

We have to learn to talk to the unconscious. Like Billy Graham did, like all evangelists do. I think atheists or people like Richard Dawkins are too honest to play such games.

Conversion is a form of violence. It is better to leave the believer alone; he, like a drug addict, is enjoying his intoxicated state.He does not want to take responsibility. He wants to be an eternal infant.It is good to provide good literature or arguments against the existence of this God [imagined illusion] but in the end the horse has to drink the water from the pond.

What kind of people in this 21st century, in an age of cutting edge technology, would defend or speak for a man called Jesus Christ. This man is suposed to have lived 2000 years back. What kind of values existed then? How on earth these spokesmen/women of Jesus and God say: "God says: bla....bla...",as though this God of theirs actually spoke to them directly. If he has, and if this kind of rubbish is what their God is expecting them to believe, then their God seriously needs psychological help. This imaginary idiot seems to have entered the minds of believers , like a virus,or a vermin and is out to propogate ignorance through them

Education won't solve this problem. God is a virus, a vermin that exists as an idea and an ideal. Fear, loneliness and spiritual poverty lead to the propogation of this stupid God or imaginary figure.

These people will live a lie all their lives and die in ignorance. Their Jesus was a chap who could not save himself, he was crucified . His father in heaven was some sadist to watch his son being crucified. Oh! No he died for us!!!!! Oh! really???

If one were to develop a strong faith in an idea, a belief, a way of life, a philosophy or in a person, one could, unconsciously or consciously, end up modelling one's whole life based on this strongly held conviction. This could gradually develop into a passionate devotion resulting in a commitment. Belief in god or a religious faith falls into this category. A committed communist or an atheist could also be committed to his faith in the fundamental principles of communism or atheism, like a believer who believes in a creator.

Apparently, this form of passionate faith offers security and adds a sense of purpose to peoples' lives. Most people find it difficult to live without this investment in faith or hope or conviction or an idea or a philosophy to hold on to. The person in question could be intellectually capable and yet may not feel secure without one or more of the aforementioned crutches that offer him psychological or and emotional security.

In the past human beings devised various rituals and ceremonies to ground this unconscious and put various primal fears in temporary suspension. Fear of natural calamities, disease, decay, death, and this incomprehensible unknown, led man to seek a saviour or a creator that was seen as omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. This creator is seen as an entity, who is all-powerful, merciful, just and permanent in this perceptibly impermanent or transient world of matter and mind. When a calamity struck, man could petition his creator and ask for forgiveness, help, divine justice and mercy.

Sam Harris has a task for several lives to come before he can make people want to stand alone. God is the biggest addiction! The need for Religion seems almost as strong as a need for sex, some would forego sex to worship their idea/imaginary concept called God!

I am eagerly waiting for a very sharp- witted and intelligent person to disproove Richard Dawkins. This gentleman: Dr. Orr has a long way to go. I sometimes wonder if some of these scientists have enough self-knowledge to grow out of their egoistic or jealous self-images.

A true scientist should have sufficient self-knowledge to keep aside his petty ego and rise above competitive little ego.
