1. ELECTION DAY IN THE USA. GO VOTE.

Comment #278083 by foolish sea otter on November 4, 2008 at 11:56 am

mordacious1,

I would be worried that they would try to make you leave for causing a disturbance. I would love to wear an offensive t-shirt (offensive for them, meaning anti-war/pro-choice or a band shirt like Ministry or KMFDM etc.).

But I'm glad you made it through and got the job done!

Shaden,

Wow, I don't know what I would do if I had to vote in a church. I would probably make up a dysfunction like I'm afraid of steeples or something and demand they bring the ballot/machine outside. Or I would develop a cough*fucktards*cough while casting my ballot.

"This is a site for clear thinking and reason."

Ah shit -I'll stop posting. I always read it as
"Beer drinking and treason."

I think it would be funny if DP went back and deleted all posts to take this thread back to the 6000 mark.

But I'm an ass, so don't listen to me.

M = Misguided
Y = Young Earth Creationist
W = Willfully Ignorant
N = Numbskull
G = '''
T = Twit
F = Fucktard

Hows that' Am I close'

edit: poor spelling again and my question marks are also doing the apostrophe thing.

Yeah but put the 'save the trees' sign on a piece of plastic pipe or something. Holding a 'save the trees' sign on a piece of wood is like feeding bacon to a pig. -it's just not right.

edited for my poor spelling

Comment #271693 by DarwinsPitbull "Either that or they are tree-hugging hippies who walk around holding signs on wooden sticks saying "Save the Trees" and a peace sign in their other hand."

That's funny!

AtheistJon:

"c. I.e. rejection of bridge to nowhere programs" -but she had no problem keeping the money for it.

and

"4. Openness. She wasn't afraid to honestly present her entire family to the world. Contrasted to the scandalous Clintons who hid Chelsea behind the curtains of their "loving marriage". Are the Obama's as open?" -Like Dick Cheney? I see him parading around with his daughter on t.v. all the time. \sarcasm

My concearn is this. Neither side has any decent person to lead. It does not matter much any way.

"Presidents don't actually have power. Their job is to draw attention away from it." -Zaphod (or Ford, not sure, but you get my point.)

Reminds me of Nancy Pelosi. IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH! Then she gets elected to Speaker of the House and Impeachment is off the table. WTF?!? Why? Did she get let in on some secret that the President really has no power anyway.

Ah shit I'm wearing my tie-dye. But I enjoy Downhill. You have to pay $20 to get the chair lift ride up but some nice drops and 3 miles later (after a stop at the "smoke shack" my Doctor says it's medicinal) you realize you had a pretty good time.

Teretornis,

Lets bring back the opium den. Do I have permission to enjoy myself if I promise not to leave until sober. I'll even ride a bike to get there.

Well said. Thank you.

EDIT: If this does not work, the next tactic should be. "Oh you did it, I converted, where can we meet to pray together?"

Joe,

I have a question about your last cut-and-paste rant.

In paragraph 3, regarding the word 'the' I'm confused on how to interpret this. Can you help me out?

Joe,

Some of us lurkers enjoy following along with the debates. But only with people who bring something to the table. If you have something to offer -great! However, you have only proven to be a distraction. Your posts are no longer required.

"Calling the Qur'an amazing is not something done only by Muslims, who have an appreciation for the book and who are pleased with it; it has been labeled amazing by non-Muslims as well. In fact, even people who hate Islam very much have still called it amazing"

Um, o.k.

It's (an) amazing (peice of poo)
It's amazing (that there's no truth to it)
It's amazing (that people actually believe this crap)
It's amazing (I have to waste my time on you)

"Vote or Die" by basically saying "If you aren't educated on the issues, don't vote."

It was more like if the choices are between a giant douche and a turd sandwich what's the point of voting?

EDIT: But then how does this fit in?

26. Teen's death blamed on faith healing

Comment #196592 by foolish sea otter on June 20, 2008 at 7:33 am

Alot of people on this site seem to assume that the boy was already in the hospital. From my past xtian experiance, I don't think this child was taken to the hospital until it was already too late. I'm sure the parents just kept the boy in his bed until they had to get an outside agency to intervene. I don't think this kid had a choice, because he was not taken to the hospital until after death for the autopsy.

28. Bible Theme Park Faces Opposition in Tennessee

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. FYI they did this before. Anyone remember Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker's Heritage USA?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heritage_USA

I went with my childhood church. Oh, the memories I try to supress just keep coming back.

(I have no idea how to correctly post links or block quotes or anything ....yet.)

Have a great weekend!

EDIT: And yes, to agree with most other posters, It was kinda like you are suggesting. People in costumes, jumping out from behind trees yelling "you are healed!" visitors would leave one on the 'rides' and drop to the ground in prayer. Really scary now that I think back.
