what annoys me is that if any other establishment or company was accused of these crimes they would be closed down ..imagine it was the National union of Teachers there would be massive repercussions ...not to mention lawsuits ...and we would be demanding the heads of those at the top ..
Whilst not personally responsible for the actions of others ..the buck stops with them...
if at a chain of Childrens Nurserys or say a private school, it was discovered that peodophiles had been abusing children in their care ...and then moved around to different departments to cover up for their crinmes ..then no one would send their children there ..or want to be associated in any way with them ..they would be forced to close ...it should be the same with the Catholic Church ..
regret isn't good enough ..the Vatican should be paying out Millions in compensation ....

this is my first post ..soooo y'know ..
This story is just another example of the PC brigade hiding behind religion.
The Registrar in question clearly has no problem with marrying Hetrosexual couples, but isn't this against her beliefs and the concept of christian marriage..as someone else pointed out they would be ' Living in sin '
..me and my wife were married in this way and were told under no circumstances were there to be any references ( including Music ) to religion!
maybe she became a registrar because her relgion doesn't allow her to become a priest or minister ...with her being a second class citizen being a woman ( getting men thrown out of eden )
if this opens doors to persecute Gays, then you can apply it to everyone and everything including Atheists ..
but on the other hand what is stopping an Atheist using this an example ..and refusing to help someone on the grounds that someone and their actions are caused by relgion and that they find it morally objectional...
