That's the joy of being atheist - you don't even have to think of converting from one sect to another. If you don't believe in superstitions and sky friends, then there's absolutely nothing to change to.

It disturbs me that I should be regarded as anti-semite. Can you supply a link to the ADL manual?

Jews are, in my opinion, a prime example of fast-tracked natural selection. Strict obedience to their rather curious religious beliefs and customs, coupled with an absence of evangelical zeal in that regard, has always made them a cohesive and clearly identifiable group within any society. Such group cohesion inevitably gives rise to suspicion amongst those not entertaining similar beliefs, and hence presents a ready target to blame for the ills besetting that society at any given time. Hence the history of pogroms and holocausts inflicted upon the Jews throughout the ages. The resulting Diaspora, comprising those who have been able to detect the pending doom and flee the situation in good time, took with them their gradually increasing combined skills and talents to enable them to survive and flourish elsewhere, whilst keeping their customs intact. We witness as a result, arguably the most intelligent and talented race there is.
As with every race, however, there are aberrations â€" need I say more?

If Babrock (comment #169187) cannot spell the word THE, then he/she is not only computer illiterate, but illiterate full stop. Does he/she do this purely to irritate the the reader?

Nobody's mentioned Christopher Hitchens yet. While TGD is definitely there on my list (along with The Selfish Gene), I think that "God is not Great" has the edge in terms of literary value, almost bordering on Dickens, another author on my list. That doesn't leave much space for anyone else, except maybe Milligan.

I design rockets for a living and I find Mr Hitchins' style perfectly understandable. You can't be a very good aerospace engineer.
