1. Response to Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris

Comment #24981 by coach on March 9, 2007 at 3:04 pm

Despite what we unbelievers might think of his speech, this fellow was not speaking to us, he was speaking to believers; and he was effective in helping to relieve their fears that science is somehow threatening religion. On the other side of the coin, he was increasing some our unbelievers discomfort, finding our pain (that religion might triumph over reason in the minds of the multitude) and perhaps being doubly effective, eh?

2. The questions science cannot answer

What if both Dawkins and McGrath are each partly correct about the grand equation? What if Dawkins has pretty much hit the nail on the head with his ideas about evolution, but the both of them have missed the point on god(s)?

What if the god(s) were really students in a faraway equivalent of an 8th grade science class tasked to produce some projects for their annual science fair; and planet Earth was somehow chosen as their laboratory? What if the many forms of man are nothing but the detritus of some pretty poor science on the part of some long ago children-experimenters messing around with DNA?
