1. Books on Atheism Are Raising Hackles in Unlikely Places

"The most disappointing feature of 'The God Delusion,' " Mr. Orr wrote, "is Dawkins's failure to engage religious thought in any serious way. You will find no serious examination of Christian or Jewish theology" and "no attempt to follow philosophical debates about the nature of religious propositions."
You don't need to chop the branches before hacking through the trunk, so to speak. Why do you need to explore the theology if that's not what you're debunking? Dawkins is taking on a sinle God in ALL and ANY forms, not just Christian/Jewish.
They just want to feel special and have more to argue against.
2. Do stop behaving as if you are God, Professor Dawkins

This is just a large load of steaming character assassination with misconceptions of atheism thrown in to spice it up!
I like the word assassination because it has double the 'ass', and in this case, I think the word 'ass' is very appropriate.
He backs up none of his assertions with quotes from the book, and, ironically states that Dawkins is a "dogmatic, aggressive propagandist".... much like... hmm... oh I don't know... YOU MAYBE?! Every single religious leader since... erm... 2000 years ago? Probably longer?
This is a blatant lack of respect for Dawkins who has opened the floor for debate; he treats the religious with at least some degree of intelligence, and they fling poo like monkeys. Just goes to show, doesn't it?

"Working on me"????
Astonishment. This is just sick! He seems like the kind of man who really 'enjoys' twisting childrens' minds. I can imagine him posing as a 13 year old girl on the internet to be honest. People like this should not be allowed anywhere near children, and their poor impressionable minds. He'd probably try to eat them anyway.
When did Raffi and innocuous songs about the black plague go out of fashion?
4. Secular fundamentalists are the new totalitarians

Maybe it's because I'm just a young'un, but I'm having trouble understanding this man. Is he saying "Well atheists, you've had your say, now get back in your closet. Because we won't go into ours dammit! Stop trying to control us moral believers with your evil fundamentalism! Religion is right!"
Is that incredibly hypocritical... or is that just me? The bit about public debate got me especially confused ("They're not only needled by their own hypocrisy; they are also furious that believers have broken the old pact to stay out of public debate") ... is he really saying that the religious are allowed into public forum... but atheists and secularists can't retaliate? Surely that's a tad totalitarian in itself? We're not needled by our hypocrisy, but his!
I fail to understand this openly vicious viewpoint. All Dawkins has done is put himself out there with what atheists have believed for years and years, and have kept a bit quiet (because of people like this no doubt). As soon as someone says 'hey look at this!' it's called fundamentalism??? Incorrect and bewilderingly harsh. But then at 17 the world is a bewildering place.
